~Serenity’s Point Of View~
Once the man sat down, a cute little kitten came up to me. I decided to pick her up. She was so soft and adorable. Mr. Tsukauchi started to continue his conversation. As Mr. Tsukauchi continued to talk, I noticed Mr. Aizawa staring at me as if he saw a ghost. It was unnerving to me but I ignored it.
“As I was saying to Serenity, Shota, you walked in at the right time because this part has to deal with you and Serenity,” He stated.
"Wait, what do you mean Tsukauchi? What have you been telling the kid?" Aizawa asked in a panicked and shocked voice.
I, on the other hand, think I know what he's getting at but I will just stay quiet since I feel as though that would be best.
"Well, I was telling Serenity how Layla died, along with what her mom wanted me to tell her. So, may I continue?" Tsukauchi asked.
Aizawa just sighed and nodded his head.
"Anyway I was at the part about who Serenity's biological father is and-"
Aizawa cut him off. "Wait what?! Okay, so you’re saying that-" Aizawa began.
"Shota, I think we should talk outside so you don't make a scene," Tsukauchi stated, realizing that this was probably a bad idea.
Aizawa nodded and went outside.
"Hey, Serenity, you alright with staying here for a bit?" He asked as he handed me mom's letter. I nodded in response and he left. I felt alone, cold, and empty. No one was here except for the little kitten in my lap.
~Aizawa's point of view~
When we got outside Tsukauchi began talking.
"What I am telling you is true. That girl you see, sitting in there by herself, is your daughter," he said as the waitress brought her a piece of strawberry shortcake and some lemon tea.
"She can't be! Layla never told me, or even mentioned it to me! Layla told me everything! I know for a fact that she would have told me!" I stared blankly. My mind sped back to the last time Layla and I talked as normal friends.
~Flashback~
Layla and I walked into a puppy cafe. There were a swarm of puppies after us and I heard a small giggle come out of Layla's lips as several of them came over to jump up at her.
"Let’s go sit down," I told her.
"Okay," she said and we walked to a table for 2.
After a bit, a waitress came to get our orders.
"I will have an ice tea with lemon meringue pie." I said whilst Layla told her that she didn't want anything. That’s strange, I thought. Layla never passed up an opportunity to get sweets.
"Hey, Layla, why are you not getting anything?" I questioned in concern.
She just stayed silent.
After 30 minutes of silence I decided to talk.
"Is everything okay? You seem off for some reason..." I told her, but that was not a good idea because she just got up and left. It seemed like she wanted to tell me something but couldn't.
~End of Flashback~
Wait, did she want to tell me about her being pregnant that day?
Tsukauchi started to talk. "I have something that Layla told me to give you. Read it when you want, but I suggest doing it sometime soon because that girl is going to need you more than ever now, you know that right?" He stated.
"Yeah, I know…. but I don't think it would be a good idea for her to stay with me…. at least not yet." I told him.
"Okay.... I will have her stay with me until the day of the service, but she is a good kid, don't turn her down. This is the only chance you get to have her in your life. Don't take it for granted," He said.
"Thank you," I told him. He then went to go get her. I just looked through the window with the letter in my hands, then turned and left for home.
