My best friend was having one of the biggest parties of the year for a welcome back to school thing at this club called Rumors. I heard it was one of the best nightclubs located here in Yorkton. We didn't get much advertisement around here since we were a small community, but that never changed anything. I and my brother exited our cars at the same time. I slug my bag over my shoulder as Erica approached me and hounded me with a question. "What did your mom say?" Erica asked finally deciding on one question. "Like always she said no," I said.
"Why not? They won't serve us any alcohol or so I told the folks," she said.
"I don't know, but Robbie get's to go," I said.
"Maybe she trusts him more," she said.
"As if. Last time I checked he peed in a bottle and left it in his room." I said. She laughed and Robbie walked over to us obviously hearing our conversation. "It was one time and I was too embarrassed for any of you to find it," he said.
"Sure," I said sarcastically.
"I guess it's good that one Cranshaw will be there," she said.
"We're not friends. I just want to dance and drink," he said.
"Okay," she said and starting laughing. Whenever Erica said something nice about one of us being there he always reminded her that they weren't friends which she already knew. A guy walked past and something in my body grew hungry for him. I can't really explain, but I needed to know him. As I looked in the direction of the guy a girl was clung to his arm. He stopped and turned to face me nearly knocking the breath out of me. He was gorgeous and to my disappointment so was she. He walked over to us and smiled. "Do you know where Mr.Marshall's room is?" he asked.
"We're actually headed there now," Erica said happily. She was always happy which sometimes got me irritated or calmed my mood. "That's alright. We'd just like directions." the girl said.
"Excuse her she's a little rude." the guy said.
"Tristan," she said in protest.
"I'm Erica," Erica said.
"Nice to meet you," he said.
"I'm Destiny," I said.
"Ryan, but you can call me Robbie," Robbie said.
"Nice to meet you all," Tristan said.
"Lovely." the girl said. For some reason I found myself hating her attitude when any other day I would ignore it and play cool, but I couldn't. "I'll see you later Des," Robbie said. I nodded as he walked off to his friends. He was a year higher than me so this year was his senior year and I was truly proud of him for making it this far. I tried to shake it off as all four of us headed to Mr.Marshall's classroom.
