I woke up in my bed with the worst head ache ever. I opened my eyes and everything came rushing back. The party was amazing. Erica may have had an eating disorder, but the never took away how much you could have around her. My hair was in a terrible mess as I walked downstairs. "Morning party goer." My father said.

"Harold she was under aged drinking." My mother snapped. "Like we never did that." My dad said.

"Your grounded young lady." My mother said. "What about Robbie." I snapped back. "He's 18." She said trying to defend him. "You have to be 21 to drink." I said.

"Your still grounded." She said.

"I hate you. I wish you weren't my mother." I said and raced upstairs.

"Destiny." I heard her say, but in response I slammed my door shut. She was so unfair. I wasn't even mad at being grounded it just she completely excused Robbie from the punishment. He was only 18 which meant it was under aged. There was a knock at my door, but I didn't respond. My dad walked inside, but I said nothing to him. "I think you owe your mom an apology." He said.

"I think she owes me one." I said.

"Under aged drinking is wrong." He said. "So why isn't Robbie grounded. It always me dad. She always makes everything twice as hard for me." I said.

"She just loves you." He said.

"She has a terrible way of showing it." I said. "Your adopted." He blurted out.

"Thanks not funny dad." I said.

"I'm not joking pumpkin." He said.

"Get out." I snapped.

"Destiny I'm still your father just like Charmaine is still your mother." He said. "Your not my dad and she's not my mom." I said. My dad, Harold looked hurt by my words, but they were true. They weren't my parents my real parents. No wonder I was red headed and they weren't. It wasn't a mutation in my genes it was lies that were told to me.
