Time Waits For No One - Chapter Three:

Chapter Three:

Seven o’clock in the morning and Michael was wide-eyed and bushy tailed, ready to get started with his day, a warm morning shower would be great to awaken his muscles and awaken him to his fullest, after wrapping a towel around his body he headed back into his bedroom to get dressed. Looking in his drawers he pulled out a white t-shirt, and some black pants. His dress code for years but he was very comfortable in the attire. Walking over to the closet he thumbed through numerous button up shirts. “Red! I’m feeling very lovable today! Hehehehe.” He giggled to himself as he pulled out the red button up flannel material shirt. Once he was dressed he made his way to the computer, signing into MSN while he walked to the kitchen for a glass of irish morning blend tea and maybe a muffin for breakfast. “You give me butterflies….inside…inside” he sang to himself as he hummed and swayed around his kitchen. While in a daze his iphone made noise, a magical noise like chimes or bells. Walking over to the iphone he saw that he had received a picture message. Running his index finger along the iphone screen he opened the message. “WE MISS YOU DADDY!!!” Read the message as he looked at a picture of his growing off spring. “Awh that really touched my heart!” He smiled as he placed his hand on his chest, replying back to the message he took a photograph of himself and sent it back to his daughter’s iphone number. The message read back “I miss you more! You are my life I love you more” he replied to the picture message. Smiling he took his chocolate muffin, half of his haitian mango and his mug of tea back to his room to see if Nikole was online. Although she was in America, and it was probably late where she was, he wanted to know if she was awake and what she was doing. He greatly enjoyed talking with her, she was so real with him and so comfortable with him. Although she wasn’t aware of who he was, she treated him like they had known each other for years, and he loved that feeling with her, he didn’t feel like he was ‘Michael Jackson’ he felt like he was Michael, her bestfriend, just Michael. Finally arriving at his bedroom he set his breakfast down on the desk beside his computer he sat down, sipping the tea he looked over the messages Nikole sent over the evening while he was sleeping. Noticing she was online he waited before talking to her. Nikole waited up all night to talk to him, it was about eleven-thirty at night in her time zone and she had finally given up on her mystery wanting to talk to her, sighing she was about to click the big red X when suddenly he sent her a message. There was no indication that he was online, quickly turning towards the computer she read the message “hi beautiful” it read as a smile grew from ear to ear across her full lips. Quickly thinking of something to say, she began to type then send it…but he was gone. Getting a notification back from MSN saying: This user does not accept messages when off line error code 002:30. Sighing she left the computer room and went to lay down in her comfy california king, a bed she once shared with her best friend. Pulling the sheets back she climbed onto the pillow top mattress, turning off the lamp beside her bed frame, she laid her head. Quickly dozing off, the last thing on her mind was Michael’s exciting phone call…

(1979) Michael had worked so hard on his new solo album with producer Quincy Jones, finally weeding out the best songs for the album, Michael had decided to entitle it, “OFF THE WALL” feeling great about the album he had worked on day and night he sat at the studio and called one of his favorite people. Picking up the phone he dialed the number and waited for an answer, “hello?” A male voice answered, “uh hello? Is Nikki available?” Michael asked in a soft sweet tone as he waited, he thought for a moment, ‘Nikki’s father passed away in germany overseas, Nikki has no uncle’s or brothers…’ He sighed as he looked down and hung up the phone before she got to it. “Hello? Hellooo?” She said out of breath but in an excited tone, she knew it was Michael but he hung up. She looked at the phone with an awkward expression and dialed Michael’s mother Katherine’s number, she asked Katherine to tell Michael she called. Katherine agreed and the two ladies hung up. “She has a boyfriend” he said in a defeated tone. “Who Smelly, what’s going on?” Quincy asked Michael as Michael paced the room. He glanced at Quincy, “I have one more song I’d like to record and add to the track list…if that’s okay?” He asked curiously. Nodding Quincy watched Michael work the switch boards and step into the booth. Giving Quincy the thumbs up, the music began to play. Michael’s vocals rang through the air as he sang his heart out. “And I don’t know whether to laugh or cry, I don’t know whether…to live or die…and it cuts like a knife…she’s out of my…life” he sang, trying not to express how hurt he was in his vocals but he couldn’t help it, he loved her more than anyone he’s ever loved before, but he knew the life he was living wasn’t a life he wanted Nikole to have to go through. Once the song was over Michael stepped out of the booth and grabbed his jacket, he reached for the door knob to leave the recording session. “Smelly…you doin alright kid?” Quincy asked as he studied Michael. Lifting his head Michael gave Quincy half a smile and nodded. “I want that to be the very last song on the album please…” He said softly as he walked out of the session, down the hall and out of the building. “She’s out of my….life” he whispered to himself as he slipped his arms into the sleeves of the jacket and disappeared into the cold, rainy night…
