Time Waits For No One Chapter 5;
Chapter 5;
Looking out of the window of his home Michael saw the rain, he loved rain. Grabbing his jacket and hat, he slipped his arms into the sleeves of the khaki trench coat, buttoning it up he tied the tie around his slender waist and grabbed a hat from his closet, he also grabbed his aviator style sunglasses as he headed out into the small town. Leaving his humble home he took a walk to clear his mind, clear his mind about life, about love, and of course about Nikole. The rain drops were slow and steady as he walked through the city. Sitting down Michael took a moment to observe those around him, feel their energy. Tears of the sky came down faster and faster as the individuals scattered for shelter, except one young lady, she walked through the rain, reminding him of Nikole her carefree spirit, she walked down the sidewalk with her headphones in, walking through the rain with no jacket, no umbrella, no fear, not a care in the world. He smiled as he watched her, studied her. He didn’t know her and she didn’t know him but for those brief moments that they passed each other they shared something special. Michael smiled as he stayed to observe others through-out the day before returning to his abode for a calm evening. Finally the clouds clear and the sun appeared as it began to set; looking around before getting up Michael smiled as he saw the gorgeous orange flowers open up revealing their brown pistols inside. His face lit up as he stood from the chair he had spent nearly all day sitting in, with a little bounce in his step he walked back through the now quiet town to his home as the sunset. “Hmm what am I going to do for dinner” he frowned, Michael was keen on some things to cook but he was no chef that was for sure, thinking as he walked he decided on an italian entree, to go. Walking into a small diner like restaurant he asked the cashier at the register for a plate of chicken alfredo with broccoli. The cashier happily sent the order to the chefs as Michael sat patiently waiting for his food. Once Michael’s food was finished he thanked the young lady at the
register as he paid her, grabbing the white plastic bag with his
entree in it he continued on his way home, once he reached home he
went inside put his food on a plate in the kitchen then traveled
quietly to his room, he thought for a moment as he carefully laid the
porcelain plate beside the computer, “Should I talk to her today or
wait?” he asked himself, he did rather miss talking to Nikole. He got
up to go to the kitchen for a bottle of water when he heard the
computer go off. “hmm that must be her” he convinced himself as he
took his time walking back to his computer. “Hello Mystery I know you
are busy with other things and it is terribly late here but I wanted
to tell you, that you were heavy on my mind, so I just thought to tell
you that I love you” the instant message read as Nikole typed. Once
she was finished typing she logged off, sighing she turned off the
lighting in her room and began to hum herself to sleep as she lay
thinking about the mystery on the other side of the screen. Michael
read the message over and over again “how could she love me, she
doesn’t even know its me… she can’t love me,” he sighed as he spoke
to himself, “she doesn’t love me” he said trying to convince himself
that no one has ever loved him so why would anyone especially someone
who didn’t know him start now. Shaking his head he took a bite of the
