Their meetings had always been orchestrated. He'd text her when he'd like to meet her and vice versa. Most of the time, they'd gotten all caught up with their own business, and planned for other times instead. They liked to keep it low
Elena's walking through the shelves, inspecting each title as she passed, trying to find the one book she needs for literature class. A frown visible on her face, and her long blonde hair falls perfectly on her back. There's a book that catches her attention, but though she's not exactly short, she still struggles to reach it.
A hand suddenly came up behind her and grabbed the book. She turned and she's shocked to see who it is.
"Nathan," she said, surprised. He gives the book to her with a smirk on his face.
"Um, thanks," she mumbled, accepting it, as he turned to inspect the other books. He just stood there, looking at the book titles like she previously did, but somehow, she felt this pull to stare at him. Maybe, it's because she didn't expect to see him in a library. All she knows is that he's one of the jocks.
She chooses to ignore his presence and to look at the book she has in hand. She frowned upon reading the blurb. "Nope," she said, about to put the book back, but then remembered that she couldn't reach it, and groaned.
"The cover does seem suspicious," he spoke from behind her as she rolled her eyes.
"No kidding," she mumbled, looking around but still found no other book to grab her interest.
"Honestly, literature class is a joke.""No, it's just the library that's a joke," he answered in a lazy tone, making her lean up with her eyes closed, groaning.
"Where else could I find the book, then?"
He suddenly grabbed the book, and put it back to its place and stood in front of her. "what class?"
"literature," she said as he walked out, pulling her along with him. She just followed along lazily, where it's almost like he's dragging her. But when she realized they're about to go to the entrance door, she halted.
"Nathan-"
"Relax, he won't notice anything," he said, pulling the door to an open, gesturing her to enter the car.
"We don't happen to have chick-fil-A around here, do we?"
...
Unexpectedly, there's a chick-fil-a near where they're going, and he'd stopped per her request. She'd returned with two set portions, with large coke, and extra fries to his surprise.
"I don't know what I should get, so I get us both the recommended set,'' she said pushing his share towards him before she started eating. She groaned when she downed her first bite.
"Now I know why it's recommended," she sighed, continuously eating as he's eating his food while staring at her in bewilderment.
"What?" she asked, noticing a little smirk on his face. He said nothing, but his hand reached forward to her lips, and her face reddens, as she reached to her lips, trying to find out what's there.
"Are you done?" he asked, and she immediately nodded. they both went on their way and not long after, he parked. He led her to a place that turned out to be a bookstore. They went on their way, and he led her through the shelves, asking which book she wanted to get.
"I don't honestly know. Maybe we should ask for a recommendation?" she asked and he shook his head, telling her to just take her time as school's ending soon, anyways. At first, she hesitates, but then, she did enjoy strolling around, and looking at books, and contemplating what they're about.
