Chapter 5 *Unknown POV*

Memories of your childhood come back and are so clear and vivid it’s like being young again. Colors seem brighter and more brilliant. Laughter seems part of daily life where before it was infrequent or didn’t exist at all. A phone call or two during the day helps to get you through a long day’s work and always brings a smile to your face. In their presence, there’s no need for continuous conversation, but you find you’re quite content in just having them nearby. Things that never interested you before become fascinating because you know they are important to this person who is so special to you. You think of this person on every occasion and in everything you do. Simple things bring them to mind like a pale blue sky, gentle wind or even a storm cloud on the horizon. You open your heart knowing that there’s a chance it may be broken one day and in opening your heart, you experience a love and joy that you never dreamed possible. You find that being vulnerable is the only way to allow your heart to feel true pleasure that’s so real it scares you. You find strength in knowing you have a true friend and possibly a soul mate who will remain loyal to the end. Life seems completely different, exciting and worthwhile.  Have you ever wanted something so bad that you couldn’t live without it anymore? Eight years ago I finally found my mate that I’ve waited for over three thousand years for, even though she was a kid I would have treated her like a queen. The plan was to take her and make her fall in love with me, but the only snag was that her father was a vampire hunter. He let my mate get away and now she hates me for killing her father. Yet, what I wasn’t expecting was a prophecy. After searching for three years I wasn’t expecting to see my mate at the strip club and I was beyond I was furious, but I knew she was planning on killing me since I took the only person that loved her away.

One of my informants that has been tailing her since she came back to her hometown barged in with urgent news. I excused myself from an important meeting with my parents. We walked down the halls of my parents’ castle and I felt I wasn’t going to like what he had to tell me about my beautiful mate. I hated being the next ken to take the throne sometimes I wish my parents had an older brother before me to deal with royal necessities. We walked into my room and I took a seat at my desk.

“Madam, I have word from one of the spy’s that she is supposed to break  some sort of bond with her former mate Adelaide Rousseau, Alpha of the Dusk Blood pack,” He said.  Did he just say my mate had a mate? How is this even possible?  “After you killed her father everyone believed that she helped you killed her father and on her 16th birthday Adelaide rejected her that why she left and turned up in New York. Apparently, she became an assassin which is why she set on killing you.”
