Lidia slowly opened her eyes when she felt a wetness on her face. The sunlight was so fierce she had to cover her eyes with her arm at first. When she retrieved her hand, she saw a boy in a large brown hood looking down at her, with a bottle above her face.
"Not easy to wake you up, girl." He said in a low voice.
After a moment of staring at him, memories of what happened last night flashed in her mind; The boy, the guards, the tree, the chase, the alley, and finally... the Shadow.
She gasped and tried to get up, only to be pushed back down by the boy with what appeared to be a wooden club.
"Calm down and don't move. You don't want to get hurt, right?" The boy in the hood told her. He kneeled beside her, his club still pressing on her torso, and removed his hood, so she could finally have a view of his face. His long blond hair was messy, uneven strands covered his face and she could also see some feathers at the side of his head. If Lidia hadn't been so surprised and scared right now, she might have found it cool. His face was young and fresh, with sharp and handsome features. He didn't look much older than her, maybe two or three years older, no more. If it wasn't for his low and grave voice, she actually would have thought he was younger. The two main things that caught her attention were his eyes, icy blue and cold on hers, and definitely the scar going from the middle of his eyes up to his right cheek. It somehow didn't scare her that much, it rather gave him an indistinguishable mysterious charm she couldn't explain or put in words.
"Wh-who are you?" She finally managed to blurt out, after examining his face.
The boy smirked and shook his head.
"You're not the one asking questions here, I am. So now answer me. How did you get on Neverland?"
Neverland. She remembered that name. It was the place the Shadow had mentioned.
"I- there, there was a sort of Shadow. It took me and brought me here. I don't remember how, I think.. I think I lost consciousness while we were... Flying." She stopped, not daring to say another word, fearing he would think she was making up things and lying. She wasn't even sure herself of what she was saying. It made no sense at all, it wouldn't be surprising he didn't believe her. However, the look on his face told her he did. He raised an eyebrow at her.
"Why would the Shadow take you? There is no girl on Neverland... there has never been, anyway. Until you." He finished his sentence in a low whisper, looking troubled and in deep thoughts.
"I don't know... I... Don't know." She whispered. She dared to turn her face off of him to take in her surroundings. She was laying on a beach, not far from the shore. Her feet as well as her hands were wet and covered in sand. At the corner of her eyes, she could she trees and bushes, probably a forest. She also had not realized the presence of other boys around them before. They wore long brown cloaks like the blond one and had all sorts of weapons in hands. Knives, bats, sticks, bows... They were not wearing their hoods so she could see their faces. Most of them seemed younger than her, between 13 and 16 years old for the oldest ones, and two little boys who didn't seem more that 10. Their faces were dirty and their hair covered with feathers and even paint for some. Although some of them looked curious or suspicious, most of the boys just didn't have any expression. Emotionless.
"What do we do with her." A boy standing behind the blond one asked. "Should we get rid of her?"
Lidia's eyes widened and she quickly pushed the club away from her torso and crawled backwards. The blond one straightened and stood up, leaning on his club.
"No. If the Shadow brought her here, it's for a special reason. We must get her to Pan. He'll decide what to do with her."
He nodded at the boys and smiled deviously. "Catch her."

Lidia had dashed into the forest as soon as the blond boy had said these two words. Once again, she had been forced to run for her life. She didn't know how long it has been since she started but the shouts of the boys had vanished behind her long ago. But again, not hearing them didn't mean they weren't there, so she had not stopped running, deeper and deeper into the woods. Her feet were killing her since she had no time to rest, and she was hardly breathing. The pain caused by her fall on the roof was still there, and she had to run while pressing her hands on her ribs to soften the burn. She had let her jacket fall behind her, since it was so hot in this place, and the fabric had been sticking on her arms, preventing her to run faster. Her shirt was even more torn now because of the branches she had ran into, leaving only little pieces of cloth covering her stomach.
Suddenly, she stumbled on a stone covered with grass and fell forward, face first on the ground. She groaned loudly, feeling the pain in her forehead and got on her fours trying to get up, in vain. She fell back down on her stomach and let out a shacking sigh.
"I can't..." she whispered to herself. She was breathing heavily and was about to close her eyes when a pair of hands pulled her up by her elbow and dragged her in a bush.
Lidia tried to get out of the person's grip by kicking her legs backwards but he blocked her by pushing her down on her back and climbing on top of her, his legs both side of her waist. The person holding her was wearing the same cloak as the other boys. His hood was pushed down so she couldn't see his face. He put a hand on her mouth to hush her and put a finger on his lips. "Shhh, don't make any noise. They're near." Lidia stopped wrigling and stiffened, holding her breath.
Just at that moment, she heard footsteps near the bush they were hiding in.
"I was sure I heard something here." One of the boys said.
"C'mon, she can't be far." Another answered, before the footsteps receded.
