"I can't believe you talked me into reading this nonsense!", I say, slamming the book on my knees shut.

"It's a classic!" Elia defends.

"Is there anyone in this whole world who actually thinks that Twilight is a good book?"

She shrugs her shoulders and takes another gummy bear: "Probably not."

We were sitting on Elia's bed, both our backs against the wall. My left leg touched her right leg.

"I give you the best books ever written and all you can come up with is Twilight?"

"Hey, come on, that was my favorite book when I was twelve. Besides, you're only on page ten. Stop whining!"

I reopened the book and closed it just a second later. "I can't read this."

Elia turned her head to me, smiling mischievously. "Then I won't read The Golden Compass."

"But this – you see – this is literally the best book ever written!"

The shook her head and smirked. "We had a deal. No Twilight – no His Dark Materials."

"Oh, come on!", I exclaimed frustrated.

"We can do something else instead.", Elia suggested. She was still looking at me.

"What for example?"

"You tell me." Her gaze flickered to my lips and back to my eyes. I swallowed.

At this moment someone knocked on the door. I took two deep breaths.

"Yes?"

Nasreen asked if we wanted to order pizza. We spent the evening with the squad in the living room, eating pizza and watching vine compilations.

"Is Noel coming?"

"I don't know," I said, already texting Noel.

Today 09:12 PM harington, where are you?

I caught Elia's eyes from time to time and she smiled at me. I couldn't relax all night because all I thought about was that weird moment before Nasreen knocked.
