Chapter 6: God Help The Outcasts

   As Danzo leaves the church, Sakura rushes over to another door, only to find guards outside. "Danzo's orders! Post a guard at every door." a guard shouts. Sakura slams it shut and sits down as Akumaru comes back to her. "Don't worry, Akumaru--if Danzo thinks he can keep us here he's wrong." she sulks. "Don't act rashly, child. You created quite a stir at the festival. It would be unwise to arouse Danzo's anger further." Kakashi said as he was lighting the candles. "You saw what he did out there, letting the crowd torture that poor boy." Sakura explained as she stood up "I thought if just one person could stand up to him, then" she sighs "What do they have against people who are different, anyway?" she asked "You can't right all the wrongs in this world by yourself." Kakashi reassured her "No one out there's going to help, that's for sure" she pouts "

  "Perhaps there's someone in here who can." Kakashi smiles as he motions towards the inside of the church, then leaves. Sakura moves into the church to find answers.

 As she walks through the church slowly, as the shadows of those walking

past her float over her

Parishioners: I ASK FOR WEALTH

I ASK FOR LOVE I CAN POSSESS

I ASK FOR GOD AND HIS ANGELS TO BLESS ME!

Meanwhile, upstairs, Naruto has heard Sakura's voice, and has come downstairs to watch her.

Esmeralda: I ASK FOR NOTHING

I CAN GET BY

BUT I KNOW SO MANY LESS LUCKY THAN I

PLEASE HELP MY PEOPLE

THE POOR AND DOWNTROD

I THOUGHT WE ALL WERE THE CHILDREN OF GOD

GOD HELP THE OUTCASTS, CHILDREN OF GOD.

     A parishioner spots Naruto "You! Bell ringer! What are you doing down here!?!" he shouts.  Naruto jumps and knocks over a candlestaff. "Haven't you caused enough trouble already?" Naruto runs back upstairs as Sakura and Akumaru follow him "Wait! I want to talk to you." Sakura pleas. The gargoyles watch from above "Look! He's got a friend with him." Tsunade says "Yeah, maybe today wasn't a total loss after all." Jiraiya smiled "A vision of loveliness for the youth!" Gai adds "the one in the dress ain't bad either."Jiraiya replies. Naruto reaches his room where the trio greet him "Naruto!"Jiraiya high fives him" Congratulations!" Gai cheers "Got the girls chasing you already!" Jiraiya adds "Actually, I--" Naruto stuttered " You mustn't run too fast, or she'll get away!" Gai smiled "Yes, ah, ah, ah, I know. That's what--" Naruto mumbled "Give her some slack, then reel her in, then give her some slack, then reel her in, then give her some slack--" Jiraiya pretended he was fishing " Knock it off, Ya Pervy Sage" Tsunade smacked him "she's a girl, not a mackerel." 

      Sakura finally catches up to him, and the 'goyles go stone. "Here you are. I was afraid I'd lost you." Sakura smiled "Yes. Um, well, I uh, I have chores to do. It was, uh, nice...seeing...you...again. Ohh..." Naruto stuttered then went to his room upstairs "No, wait!" Sakura yells. Akumaru examines Jiraiya, he briefly comes to life, makes kissing faces at the goat, then goes back to stone. Akumaru shakes his head then looks back at the statue. Sakura then continues to follow the bell ringer "I'm really sorry about this afternoon. I had no idea who you were." she explains as she reaches his room "I would never in my life had...pulled...you...up on the...stage." She slows down as she walks into his room seeing the dangling glass mobile and model of the city.
