Walking into Del's Diner, we got seated. Despite the diner being busy, the wait was short so we got seated quickly.
We order our food and wait for it to come.
"I'm so hungry," my friend Kyle sinks into his seat.
"I know. You've been complaining since government," I reach into my pocket and pull out my phone.
"So I'm thinking about asking Kate out."
"Who is Kate again?" I ask.
"I haven't talked about her yet, but she's actually over there," he motions towards the direction behind me.
"Damn, she's hot," I look back to Kyle.
"Yeah I know. We've been talking for a while and I think I'm going to officially go for it," he nods his head.
"Shit man, good luck."
"Thanks. Chicks like flowers and shit right?" he asks.
"Yeah and get chocolate. They love that shit."
"Alright, here's the burger with avocado, and here's the turkey sandwich with extra fries," Loey sets down our food, "Is there anything else I can grab you boys while I'm here?"
"No thank you, everything looks great," I say.
Loey nods and walks away.
"Come on Kyle stop being a dumbass," I laugh as he makes a mountain with his fries and drenches it in ketchup.
"Shut up Everett, let me just eat my food how I want." Kyle says shoving a huge amount of fries into his mouth.
We finish our food and decide to go to the grocery store to get Kyle some things for Kate. From the way he describes her, she actually seems like she will be good for him which is surprising because not many chicks can be in a relationship with him. They always complain about how immature he is or how he's going to be some sleeze in a frat house when he gets into a university which is 100% untrue, they just don't take the time to get to know him. He is a great guy to be around. He's basically like a brother to me.
"I think she will like these," he says with full hands.
He picked out a small stuffed bear, a bouquet of flowers, and a box of chocolates.
"I think so too man."
"I'm really nervous, what if she says no?"
"Then she's missing out on an amazing person. I haven't seen you ever do something like this for anyone dude."
"I know man, I really like her. She's like this big ball of energy and I just really vibe with her."
While we were leaving the store, I remembered that my mom needed help with some things. I walk towards my car while Kyle pulls his keys out for his.
"Hey man I'm going to head home. I need to help my mom with some stuff before I do homework."
"Okay I'll see you tomorrow, I think I'm going to surprise her at her locker tomorrow!" Kyle replies with a huge smile on his face.
"Ight, see you then man!"
I hop into my car and get a notification for something. I decide to just ignore it for now and hurry home to help my mom.
