Chapter 10: Everett

"I fucked up man," I wipe my face as I pace around Kyle's bedroom.

"So what exactly happened?" he asks.

"Well we had a little bit of a moment and we were holding hands and shit man. I didn't mean to seem as if I wasn't into her, I just wasn't prepared for what she said,'' I stop and explain, "She probably thinks I'm playing with her feelings."

"Have you tried calling her?" he furrows his brows.

"Not yet, I figure I'll talk to her in class later? We are working on that project," I explained.

"Yeah and about that. Thanks partner," he says with sarcasm.

"Sorry man," I shake my head.

"Well speaking of school we need to get going. I want to see my girl before class." Kyle smiles.

"Alright, alright." I laugh.

Arriving at school kyle pulls into the parking stall next to Carson's and I park next to Kyle.

We both get out of our vehicles and climb into the back seat of Carson's range rover. She says a short hi before turning back to her cell phone. She is probably still upset with me. Hell i know she is, her body language says it all.

Even with being pissed I'm still attracted to her. I have never felt this way about anyone before. I don't know what to do or what to say. I want to ask Kyle what to do, but even he is just winging this shit right now.

She makes my stomach tingle and turn. I get so nervous when talking to her, i'm afraid ill say the wrong thing. Even though we have known each other for a week, I feel it in my bones that she is the one. Even if i don't know her that well, if everything works out i'll find out everything i need to know.

I just need to talk to her. Alone. I can't do it during class because Mr shitface will call us out. What if she doesn't want to partner with me anymore? I don't think she will ditch me after one little screw up, right?

We all heard the first bell ring signaling that the homeroom will be starting in less than five minutes. We all climb out of the car and Carson is making her way into school, without me. Kyle decided to walk Kate to class so we parted ways once we walked through the doors of the school. I wanted to call out for Carson so she and I could walk to class together, but I had already seen her meet up with zach.

My heart dropped at the thought of her possibly wanting to switch partners to be back with him. He opened the classroom door for her to enter, "hey man keep the door-" i raised my voice a bit before he closed the door behind him. Dick.

Getting to the door, I opened it roughly and made my way towards my seat. I plopped down causing my chair to hit the front of Carson's desk. I felt the pressure of the back of my seat release, making it known Carson moved her desk back away from my chair.

The last bell rang and the teacher began his morning speech before each class.

"Alright class, today will be a partner work day. Meaning you will need to look into finishing your projects and start on the final reports with the explanation of how you worked everything out. No talking about anything but these projects, hopefully i won't have to break anybody up since you all are seniors and have graduation requirements to uphold." he shuffled some papers before asking some girl in the class to pass them out. "You may partner up now." he finishes.

I turn my body to look at Carson who is reaching into her backpack to retrieve the papers we have been working on. She handed me my half and began to work on hers.
