"Dani? Please open up! I know I screwed up" Hayes knocked on the door.
"Please go away" the truth is I was the one that messed up, big time.
"No, please come out" he begged.
I just sat in the silence and waited for something, the thing was that I have no idea what I was waiting for.
All of the sudden I got hit in the back of the head by the door.
"What the hell" I yelled grabbing the back of my head.
"Whoops" Hayes laughed.
"What do you want" I said in more of an annoyed voice.
"I want to hug you and tell you I'm sorry and that it'll all be okay but that's for goodie goodies so I'll just give you a high five and tell you to get over it" he said putting his hand out and waited for me to slap it.
"That's not helping anything" I said pushing his hand away and standing up.
"Listen I'm sorry" he said walking after me.
"Why do you always act like such a bad boy?" I randomly asked.
"It's a long story that doesn't matter anymore"
"I have time"
"Fine okay well I guess it all started when my parents got divorced, after that I was just down about everything and then that stage in my life was over and I guess I just went into this stage and I then I joined the football team and the lacrosse team and then all the girls thought I was hot shit and thought I was great. So I started thinking that I could get anything or anyone that I wanted. But then I met you, and your different, there's something about you that just makes me interested and honestly it drives me insane. But I feel like somewhere inside you there is a hidden secret just waiting for someone that's willing to search for it" he said as I watched every detail of his face.
"I wasn't always like this," I said.
"What?"
"I wasn't always like this, like when I was in 5th-6th grade I hated life. I just wanted it to all end. I sat all by myself at lunch. I had no friends. I was the 'nerd' or 'freak' who sat in the back of the class reading. But one day my sister, the perfect, hot, sister helped me out. She gave me contacts to wear instead of glasses, she brought me to the salon to get my hair highlighted with light blonde streaks, she took me to get my nails done, she did my makeup to perfection, and she bought me new clothes. And when I went to school after that everything changed, the boys wanted to date me, the girls wanted to be my friend" I said. All the memories cam flowing back to me.
"Wow" is all he could say.
"Then I asked my mom if we could transfer to a different school so now we're here" I shyly smiled.
"Well I think you'd be beautiful either way" he smiled. This time it was a real smile not a fake devilish smirk like what is usually plastered on his face.
