"But I don't want to! It tastes gross!" Autumn said stubbornly. Sasha was holding out a huge centipede Scratch had caught that day.

"But it's a delicacy! It tastes good!" Sasha urged her. "No it doesn't!!!" Autumn said turning and stalking towards the back of the den; her wings and tail dragged on the ground.

Sasha sighed and curled up in her nest, ready for a nice long nap. Scratch walked up beside her. "She takes after you: stubborn little kit," he said jokingly. Sasha rolled her eyes.

Autumn pricked her ears up. "What's that sound?" she asked. There was snarling and rumbling coming from outside the den. Sasha got up from her nest and walked up to the entrance of the den. Scratch padded up with her.

"It's them! Kill them!" a voice snarled. The next thing Autumn knew, her mother and father were thrown off their paws. A shadow loomed over them."Scarlet!" Sasha screeched.

A huge female wolf stood there. She had dark scarlet ginger patches of fur and amber eyes with a scar over one of them. A pack of snarling, vicious wolves stood behind her.

"Kill them!" Scarlet screamed. Wolves poured into the den. Autumn didn't know what to do. A wolf charged at her, but her father jumped on it before it could touch her. Scratch clawed at its eyes, but the wolf shook him off and started for Autumn again.

Autumn started to run but another wolf grabbed her by the scruff of the neck. She screamed and the wolf flung her across the den. She fell with a loud THUMP!

Sasha was pinned down to the ground by a wolf. He gripped his teeth around her throat as she gasped for breath.

"NO!" Scratch screeched and knocked the wolf off his feet. He clawed at it as best he could. Autumn watched in horror as her parents fought. Her mother was already back on her paws and fighting more wolves.

Autumn started dig down into the soil in the den. She wanted to hide. As she dug, she noticed that the wolves started to clear out of the den little by little. Good, she thought. She finally dug a deep enough hole to hide in and she curled up inside it. Before she could get comfortable, there was a loud snarl- and a blood curdling screech.
