Today, I was lucky to get to school twenty minutes earlier which was quite unusual so I was in class fifteen minutes before the class started. So I managed to get a good spot to seat far from the prying eyes of the teacher and close to the outside world where I could sketch or sleep without the teacher noticing
Students were all in groups talking, laughing and gossiping. Audrey was not in this class so I sat alone watching them since I was much of an introvert.
Then he walked in, I don't really know who because I don't think I had seen him before so I guessed he was the Adrian, Audrey was talking about, As soon as he walked in the class went silent
He was tall, not too muscular, with dark brown hair complimented with sapphire blue eyes, it was as if God personally moulded him, like a god on earth.
He looked up and caught me staring and I quickly looked away embarrassed.
Girls were giving him flirtatious stares and winks and boys sneers but he ignored them and went to seat at the far end of the class
When any girl attempted to seat close to him or start any conversation with him, he gave them a cold intimidating stare which made them run away.
Throughout the class everyone kept staring at him indirectly, once I sneaked a peek at him and our eyes met I turned quickly my face as red as a tomato.
Later at lunch as we sat at our table, Audrey kept talking about Adrian who was sitting at his table alone and was quietly eating.
'Ava!!' She exclaimed excitedly
'What?' I asked
'Adrian, he's staring at you'
'What? you're are kidding right?' I asked finding it hard to believe
'No I'm not, see for yourself'
I turned in time to caught him turning quickly
I stared at Audrey in disbelief
'Is he looking at the way I eat?, do I look messy? I asked with a little panic
'No, I guess he's looking at this beautiful girl in front of me with green hazel eyes and long wavy brown hair' she said smiling
'Who?' I asked looking around in confusion
'You of course, you are that beautiful girl' Audrey said trying to suppress the laughter building up in her
'Stop it, you make it sound like I'm really that beautiful' I said trying to hide the blush on my cheeks with my hair
'Gosh, Ava you're that girl most girls are jealous of that's the main reason you don't even have friends' she said with a very serious expression on her face
'How do you know most girls are jealous of me, Are you? I asked and resumed eating
She sighed 'Is that the only thing you heard?'
We looked at ourselves and bursted into laughter
'What about Justin?' I asked trying to change the subject
Well Justin was her boyfriendShe blushed 'Well, we're going on a date tomorrow' she said trying to sound less excited about it
'Wow, that's nice have you kissed him yet? I asked playfully
'Stop that Ava why do you want to know?' She asked blushing harder
'I bet you did' I said teasingly
'Stop it Ava' she said covering her face with her hands
'Okay' I said and changed the topic
'Audrey'
'Huh'
'You're going for Dylan's party on Friday?'
'Yea' she said then her eyes widens with surprise and she asks immediately 'Why do you ask you wanna go?'
'I want to but I'm scared you know I've not been to a party before ' I said
'Justin's going so I have to, not like I have a choice but one thing I'm sure of is if I'm going you would have to go too' she said in between mouthfuls
'Well I'd have to ask my mom first'
************
As I sat down at the dining table I stared at my mom and Bianca while they ate, l debated quietly whether to tell her about the party or not
'Ava, what's wrong? You have not touched your food yet ' mom said looking at me
Well it was now or never
'Emm, mom I wanted to ask if it's okay for me to go to a friend's party?'
Mom raised an eyebrow and Bianca dropped her fork in surprise, I quickly defended my self
'Well I did not want to go it was Audrey, and it's more like a get together not the kind of party you think'
'Well you're free to go only if you'd adhere strictly to the rules I'll give you'
I roll my eyes
This can not any worse
'Rule No 1: do not accept drinks from strangers you don't know if it's spiked
Rule NO 2: stay away from drunk guys and if they ask you for a dance turn them down politely.
Rule NO 3: make sure you are always with Audrey make sure you don't leave her side.
'But mum she's with her boyfriend it will be like I'm kinda intruding her privacy' I protested cutting her short
'I'm not done yet and please do not eat anyhow or get drunk' she said seriously
'But mom, Ava is seventeen she can take care of herself and besides you should be glad she wants to go out and socialize please just let her be' Bianca said
'Yes I know, but she has never been to these kind of parties before, sometimes I wish you had an elder brother that could take you to these parties so i could be at peace cause I know you're in safe hands' she sighed her eyes sad
' Mom you know there's actually no need for a boy I can do the job' Bianca said standing up and clenching her fists
'Anyone who tries to touch or bully my little sis will have to face my kungfu skills first' she said and we all laughed knowingly'Mom you don't need to get emotional you have us' bianca said her tone softer and hugging her
'And we love you' I whispered joining in the hug
'what more could I have asked for?' mom asked almost in tears
