IN LOVE WITH HIM

Chapter seven

There she was grinning mischievously, I tried begging her with my eyes but she didn't seem to get the hint.

"Ava! it's you, I see you've come with your boyfriend" she said emphasizing the last word.

"Mom, he's not my boyfriend" I whined.

"Well he's the first boy you ever brought home" she said eyeing Adrian suspiciously.

"But Mom! That doesn't make him my boyfriend" seriously? Must mom always make it difficult for me?

Adrian was just watching us with amusement clearly written on his face.

"Aren't you gonna invite your friend in?" She said drawling out the word friend.

"Well no problem ma'am I was just about to leave anyway" He said speaking up for the first time.

"This is the first time she brought a friend home apart from Audrey of cause wouldn't you wanna stay for dinner?" She asked

"OK ma'am" he said entering the house

"Well there isn't any introduction yet" Bianca's annoying voice said I turned to see her walking down the stairs, she had a mischievous glint in her eyes.

I internally sighed, this sure is gonna be a long night.

"Adrian that's Bianca my elder sister and that's my mom"

"And Mom, Bianca this is Adrian my ........" I paused when I realised I didn't have what to call him.

"Boyfriend?' Bianca supplied raising an eyebrow

Oh god not again!

"No friend" I said I glanced at Adrian he seemed bored he had this unreadable expression on his face it was hard to guess what was going on  on his mind.

"Adrian please have a seat and Bianca you don't mind setting the table do you?" It did not sound like a question it was an order "And Ava come get the food from the kitchen with me" she said she didn't even bother to ask if I mind she knew the answer would clearly be a no

"Okay" I muttered following her to the kitchen let's just hope she doesn't bring up Adrian"

"Hmm I smell freshly baked cookies" I said in a singsong voice stretching my hands to take one

"Don't touch my cookies, I've always told you to wash your hands before you eat"
She said slapping my hands away from the bowl of cookies.

I huffed, knowing mom she was a cleanliness freak she could throw a whole bowl of cookies cause you took one without washing your hands

I rolled my eyes before going over to the tap to wash my hands I wasn't ready to lose my precious cookie tonight because of something as trivial as washing of hands, I proceeded to take a cookie

"Wow tasty as always" I said munching it happily believe me when I say mom's cookies were the best

"Well when you're done take those plates to the table" She said leaving with some plates.

           
Mom kept trying to impress Adrian and wouldn't let him leave until she packed some cookies for him. It was amusing though it's not like he's my boyfriend.

"I'll return the plates"

"Ava see you tomorrow" he said and left with the plates.

Immediately he left, Mom and Bianca turned to face with a look that said to explain

"What?" I asked pretending to be confused.

"So?" Bianca drawled out

"So what?" I asked slightly getting confused.

"Don't give us that look, spill it" Mom said

"Well I don't have a anything to spill, wanna sleep see ya tomorrow" I said running upstairs before they could reply.

Once in my room I heaved a sigh of relief making sure to lock my door before jumping on my bed.

I was about to sleep when my phone rang.

'Wrong timing' I muttered picking my phone to switch it off but decided against it when I saw the caller ID

"Hello"

"Ava, why didn't you tell me you were leaving I was worried sick about you, I just saw the message you left" she said trying to sound angry but failing miserably, her tone sounded overly dramatic.

"Sorry" I said, seriously was she gonna start now?

"Apology accepted, so aside that how did you get home?"

"Adrian dropped me off"

"Ya don't mean it" she squealed.

I pulled the phone away from my ear quickly taken aback by her squeal.

"Ya he did, what's the big deal?" I asked sleepily

"Tell me about it will you"  she asked I could sense the excitement in her voice.

"Not tonight, maybe another time I wanna sleep" I said yawning.

"Not until you promise me you're gonna tell me everything that happened tomorrow and when I say everything I mean everything" she said

"Yes everything" I said my eyelids getting heavier, she said something else which I didn't catch because I fell asleep immediately.
