Once inside of her room, the brothers parted ways. Thor went of to do gods know what and Loki turned to his mother.

He had noticed the tears that were pricking her eyes and his anger diminished almost immediately.

"Mother, what is the problem?" Loki asked, moving toward the queen to take her into a protective hug.

"Your father has done something terrible," Frigga cried as she held his head between her hands. "Something so horrible."

Loki was filled with a protective anger, thinking that maybe Odin had done something to hurt his mother.

"What has he done? Has he hurt you?" Loki asked defensively. In his mind, Frigga's hurt was his own.

"No, son, he's done something far worse. I can't bear to think that he- Oh, Loki," The queen tightened her arms around the young god and began to cry.

"Mother, what has he done?" Loki was beginning to feel frustrated with his mother. He knew that she was upset, but he also figured she could have told him by so so that he could help.

  "Loki, sit down," She ordered.

The man obeyed his mother, sitting on the edge of the bed.

Frigga wiped her eyes and opened her mouth to speak. "Your father has been having quite a few... political troubles lately. He went into a meeting today and..."

Loki was worried that his mother would break into tears again, so he stood.

"Son, sit back down," he did, "Anyway, your father went into the meeting today. You would think that it would be with the guards or another planet's ambassador, but it was one, lone woman..."

                                                                          -The Meeting-

The woman walked into the large Asgardian palace. The pillars were huge, gilded things. Very wasteful.

She had never been much of a person for excessive glamour. Once inside, she was stopped by the guard right on the in

"Ah, Miss..." The guard faltered with the inability to find her name,  "Miss, we have been expecting you. Right this way," he said.

She followed him through huge hallways with ornate paintings and stained glass windows, unimpressed. She didn't even look around.

The guard brought her to a large door and opened it for her.

The door lead to a path down to a conversation pit in the garden. In the middle of the lowered area was a huge mahogany table spready with plates of ornate foods and exotic fruits. Odin himself was sitting on one end of the table. The woman, however, looked bored.

  "Odin," She greeted.

The god looked at her sourly. "Let's not waste time with pleasantries. We both know why you're here."

"If we aren't wasting out time on pleasantries, I invite for you to explain this fortune's worth of food. I have people back on my home planet who would murder for just half of one of these plates," The woman smirked at him and folded her arms.

"These... wastes were not my decision. My wife chose to greet such a guest as yourself with the riches of our pantry."

"Your wife sounds lovely," the woman sat confidently on one of the chairs.

"She is. Now let's move on." Odin picked up a wine glass and took a sip of the wine.

"So what is it you want for your service?" he asked her over the rim of his glass. "Gold? Jewels? A castle of your own?

"No, I don't think you understand," the lady purred, folding her arms and leaning on the table.

"You see, I operate at a price. And I've seen the look on your youngest son's face. He looks lost here. And I've seen the way you treat him" she smirked and looked at the lonely prince sitting off in the distance simply engrossed in a book. Even when he was buried in his own imagination, he looked sad and alone.

"That's the price of my loyalty, Allfather." The woman smirked. "Him."

Odin faltered, following her gaze to his adopted son. "I see," he mumbled. "Then the deal is set."

The pen in his hand pressed down into the creamy parchment. Loki Laufeyson, Jotun prince of Asgard, had been sold as property to a spy.
