Isabella threw her bag over her shoulder and went into the gas station after locking her car doors. Glancing around her she saw they were only two other people hanging around the station. Entering the little shop she looked around and spotted the snack section.

"Please have a Snickers bar." She mumbled looking through.

One peeked up beneath a Baby Ruth. Sighing, she snatched up both. Couldn't leave a man behind.
She grabbed a coke and headed to the cashier. The man behind the cash register looked greasy. His hair was tousled and his pudgy face had a creepy smile on it.

"Hey sweet thing. Don't you know too much sugar isn't good. But I guess it's working out for you."he rasped looking at her boobs.

"Could you ring up my stuff? I haven't the time."

He rolled his eyes and totalled up my stuff. Shoving them in a plastic bag he handed them over to me.

"Too bad your attitude doesn't match."he scowled.

Isabella was already tired and the only response she could give was a middle finger. Getting back in her car she threw the bag in the seat next to her and started her engine. She drove off and made sure she kicked up some snow when the stupid man stepped out .

Looking out her window she saw that the snow was starting to fall a little heavier.

"God, I hope I don't have to hole up in a measly motel to ride out this storm."she chuckled, pressing her gas pedal a bit harder.

Two hours later she found her self in a ditch in the middle of the dead zone. A deer had strut out into her path and being the good Samaritan she chose the deer over her car. The deer ran off frightened  and left her on her own.

"I guess I'm hitch hiking."

Grabbing her suitcase, and hand bag and of course her snacks she started to walk along the cold and lonely road. The trees dared not to sway as the cool breeze whipped through them. Isabella knew that she would freeze to death if she didn't put on another coat . She stopped in the middle of the road and dug up for her other jacket. Slinging it on she zipped her bag back up and continued walking.
Her phone was of no use to her. She had dropped her phone from the stairs of the plane when she had landed and it was cracked up beyond repair. Ahead of her a little shack with a light shine through her squinted eyes. Breathing a sigh of relief she headed towards the light. When she got there she was thoroughly disappointed.  It was a house...or a shack.  Just a couple of pieces of wood to make...something and a light hung from it.

"This is the best shelter I'll get. I'll just have to start walking in the morning again. " she mumbled.

Her hands were cold to the point that she couldn't feel her fingers. Placing her suitcase on the floor,  she sat on it and placed her duffel bag on her lap. Isabella finally felt the fear creep in as she realized how alone she was. She had no real food and she didn't have a warm bed. She did have a flick knife to defend herself but what good would it be to her if she couldn't even hold it properly.  Isabella felt the cold seeping into her bones and she grew sleepy. The last thing she saw was the haunting darkness that seemed to evade her space.
