Some info of what has happened before this. Ben has turned to the light and saved Rey from the first order and they escaped on the Falcon while being chased by Tie Fighters and they are currently flying away from them. Some things to note that have/ haven't happened. Leia is dead. Neither of them has learned how to force heal. Ben still has his red saber. The Knights of Ren are a lot harder to fight than in the movie. Enjoy.

They were under heavy fire from the Ties and the Falcon was taking substantial damage. Rey and Ben were probably the best pilots alive in the galaxy but under fire from thousands of Ties they wouldn't last much longer.
"Ben," Rey exclaimed to the person in the pilot's seat next to her, "We have to find somewhere to land, the Falcon can't take much more."
"I know a planet covered in forest near here. We can find cover there," Ben replied.
He hoped the falcon would be ok. It was the last thing he had of his father, Han Solo. He never regretted something more in his life than killing him. If he could take it back he would, but he couldn't, so instead he would insure his father's ship and legacy lived on.
Ben punched the coordinates into the Falcon then jumped into lightspeed. Rey was busy trying to contact the resistance, but the First Order was jamming their signal.
"Come on, Come on" Rey was saying while frantically trying to reach the Resistance while in hyperspace. Hopefully going at this speed they could find an open window to contact them.
"We are going to be ok" Ben said to Rey, but he wasn't sure he believed it himself.
He was worried that after everything, this is where his and Rey's story would end. He had finally turned back to the light, for the world, for his family, and most importantly for Rey. It may have been too late he realized. He had done so much bad and now he wouldn't even have time to fix all of his wrongs. He was sure of one thing though, He would make sure Rey would be safe no matter what.
It filled him with determination and strength knowing that he would do everything in his power to make sure she was safe. The galaxy needed her, way more than it needed him. In fact Ben thought the galaxy would have been better off without him. He would change that though. He was no longer on the darkside he had given himself fully to the light. He would contribute to it's safety. Rey though, the galaxy needed her. If anyone would be able to defeat the Emperor it would be her. She was special and she would be the one to save everyone.
"Is anyone there, please can anyone hear me." Rey was saying over the Falcon's com systems. She was about to give up hope of reaching them when suddenly Finn's voice came over the lines "Rey, can you hear me. What's going on. How did you escape Ren and the First Order"
Ben felt a twinge of guilt. He knew most people would remember the bad side of him even if Rey vouched for him. As Kylo he had done a lot of horrible things to Finn. Finn was yet another person on a long list of people he needed to redeem himself to. It seemed the list of people that he had to prove his worth to, just kept getting longer.
Rey's voice was filled with relief as she replied to Finn, "It's a long story, We are in trouble. There are Ties all around us. The Falcon won't last long."
"Who is we" Finn said with confusion.
"I'll explain later," Rey replied, "but for now please bring reinforcements to this location."
Rey sent the coordinates of the planet they were going to over the coms.
"Ok I got it," Finn said, "We-" then his voice suddenly cut off as the Falcon came out of hyperspace and the jammers kicked in again.
The Ties were hot on their tails as the planet came into sight. They would find the cover that they needed there until the Resistance could rescue them.
The Falcon shook as a multitude of shots from Tie fighters collided with the ship. The Falcon's damage warning system was beeping. This wasn't good.
"It's going to be a rocky landing," Ben exclaimed to Rey, "Hold on."
They came into the planet's atmosphere and flew closer and closer to the immense forest. Ben slowed them down just enough so they didn't ram into the ground, but the landing still took out a lot of trees and left the Falcon in even worse condition than it was. The Falcon was not their best bet to escape on when the time would come to leave. It pained Ben that he would potentially have to leave his father's ship behind, but he had to make sure he got Rey to safety.
Soon carriers with troops would be here. If they stayed at the Falcon they would be surrounded and there would be no escape. They had to leave now and stay on the move so they wouldn't get trapped. They needed to be able to get to the Resistance once they came. Ben wasn't the most worried about being surrounded though. Palpatine hadn't launched his ships with planet killing weapons yet, but if he did now and those ships came before the Resistance could get to Ben and Rey... They would be doomed.
"Come on Ben, we have to go quickly before reinforcements come." Rey said.
She didn't know how she would explain Ben to the Resistance especially now that Leia was dead, but she knew she had to find a way to make sure they both survived this. They both needed to get back alive so they could save the Resistance and the galaxy from Palpatine. She needed him. They were a Dyad. They were not meant to be separated ever again. It was Snoke and Palpatine's fault. They had torchered Ben's mind. They had kept him in the darkness, but now she had finally, truly, found him. Her other half, her dyad. They would defeat Palpatine together.
They both ran into the forest together, their lightsabers ablaze. Rey with the blue legacy saber and Ben with his red crossguard saber. Someday Ben hoped to get rid of his saber that represented all of the darkness he wrought, in favor of a Jedi's one, but for now it would do.
The forest was clear enough that they could run through it, but there were trees, roots, undergrowth, and rock structures everywhere, so they had to be careful not to fall.
They were able to run for about ten minutes before they ran into their first group of stormtroopers. They dealt with them easily enough with them deflecting blaster fire and throwing them into the trees. They didn't kill any, but Ben realized that they would just keep coming and eventually they would have to fight with everything they had.
They kept going into the forest waiting for the Resistance to come for them. Rey and Ben fought together like they should have all along. They were in perfect sync like back when they were fighting the Praetorian guards. They pulled energy from their bond between each other. They were truly stronger together than apart. Their bond linked their minds together so they were able to warn each other of a strike coming or of tactics. It was the dyad fighting down the might of the First Order.
On and on they fought and the longer they fought the harder it got. More and more were coming against them. They came in hordes pushing them farther to the right. They were both exhausted. There was only so much more they could take.
Ben realized that the troops were trying to angle them to the right. They were trying to direct their pathway to some place. Ben couldn't let that happen because wherever they were trying to get him and Rey to go was surely a death sentence.
Rey, they're leading us to the right, they have some kind of trap in place, Ben said through their bond.
How do we get through them? Hundreds are pushing us this way, Rey responded.
We have to punch a hole through their attack somehow, follow me, Ben responded and then ran toward the direction blaster fire was coming from.
Rey chased after Ben in the direction of the enemies. She knew they were in trouble. Punching a whole through the attack would be very difficult even for them, a dyad, but they had to try because the alternative was worse. They could do this, Rey thought, her and Ben would make it out of this together, somehow.
They hadn't run far until the first wave of enemies was up. As soon as they saw that Rey and Ben were coming in their direction they got cover and layed down heavy fire. Rey and Ben were able to deflect it but there was so much blaster fire that they started getting hit. Rey took one in the shoulder and another in the arm. Ben took one to his side. A group of soldiers had flanked around them in the chaos and were about to shoot Rey, but just in time Ben saw them and yelled at Rey through the bond to watch out.
We have to find cover, Rey exclaimed down the bond.
Not too far away to their side Ben saw a rock structure that could provide adequate cover.
Over there, Ben gestured to Rey. Together they took off in that direction, while having to block blaster fire from the enclosing troops. After some hard travel they finally got behind the rock structure that covered them from fire on one side.
"What are we supposed to do," Rey said aloud.
"We have to keep trying to get through their line," Ben replied with determination set on his face.
"How are we supposed to do that, there doesn't seem to be an end to the horde." Rey exasperated. She was worried. Troops were enclosing them and it was just them against all of the First Order. How could they get out of this. They needed to get out of this, or the Resistance would be doomed and all that Leia stood for would be in vain.
Ben looked into Rey's eyes and said, "We can do this. We are a dyad. Together no one can stop us."
Rey looked over Ben's face. A face that had been so full of pain and conflict now filled with resolve. The scar she gave him from their first fight still snaked down his face. Their past was a complicated one, but here he was in front of her telling her they would be alright. She drew strength from that and set her sights on getting out. They could do this.
A group of troopers came from a direction the rock didn't cover and they had to deflect their shots back at them and Ben threw one against a tree.
"Rey, stay close to me, if we cut through their line quickly we can.." Ben's voice died off as he saw the approaching group of troopers with anti saber melee weapons. It was a group of specially trained troops that were specifically trained how to use these electric melee weapons that lightsabers couldn't cut.
They slowly approached Rey and Ben, enclosing them against the rocks. There were ten of them and who knows more that were coming.
Together, Ben thought.
Together, Rey agreed.
Then they charged at the troopers. Ben launched himself behind them and stabbed one in the back. The next two closest troopers to him swung their weapon at him. He dodged to the side on the first one and blocked the second one with his saber. A third trooper swung at his side but he spun away and then stabbed him in the side. A forth trooper and the first two were now back on the attack again and were pushing him towards the middle.
Rey flung one trooper into a tree and then ran up to the next one. The trooper tried to swing at her but she stopped it with the force and then stabbed him. The other three ran up to her and all swung at her in succession. She ducked under the first one and blocked a downward stroke from the second with her saber. Unfortunately that left her open for attack by the third who got a hit right on her side.
Rey grunted in pain from the brunt force of the hit then the electricity that surged through her. She had felt her rib crack and a searing pain went through her whole body. She was able to force push the two guards that missed her away. Then with her free hand she grabbed the electric weapon so the trooper couldn't move it and with her lightsaber decapitated him.
Her left hand was badly messed up from grabbing the weapon and her side had a crippling pain. She only had a moment to get ready again before the two that she had force pushed back plus the one she had thrown into a tree were back on her pushing her towards the middle.
Ben had felt Rey's pain when she got hit. He turned to try to go help her but then took a blow off the shoulder.
Rey are you ok, he called through the bond.
I'm fine, but we are not going to be able to last much longer, Rey replied.
The remaining six troops were forcing them together in the middle. They were back to back again like they had been the first time they fought together. If not for Rey being able to draw power from Ben through their dyad, she would not have been able to fight because of her injury.
Together they were able to fight back the troopers. They would block, dodge, and warn each other of oncoming attacks. Any opening they had they would take and strike down another trooper. Sometimes they would work in coercion by one blocking an incoming attack while the other strikes back. They drew on their bond and each other's determination which kept them going. They danced around each other, a whir of red and blue lightsabers swinging together in unison. Ben's black and Rey's white clothes fluttering around each other in perfect balance. Balance, that was what they were.
Finally they had downed the last trooper. They had a moment to look into the others eyes and relish that they were still alive. They were both hurt, but Rey was more so from the blow to the side she took.
Ben looked down at Rey clutching her hurt side. He hated that they had hurt her like this.
"Are you going to be able to keep fighting," he asked.
Rey just nodded at him. He could tell it was a struggle to fight back the pain.
"Just keep drawing on my strength. The Resistance will be here soon," Ben comforted. He hoped it was true.
They started heading towards the line where the enemies were coming from only to see a dreadful sight. There were hordes and hordes more of troopers with blasters and in the middle leading the attack was an immense group of troopers with the electric melee weapon. More than they could take. Especially not in this state.
We have to turn around. We aren't going to be able to cut through their line. We just have to go where they are pushing us and hope the Resistance can get here in time. Rey thought through the bond.
Ben didn't like the idea of going where the First Order wanted them to go, but at this point they didn't have a choice. The Resistance needed to get here fast.
They kept running and running while getting pushed back by the troops. There was heavy blaster fire coming from behind them so that they had to deflect shots and couldn't stop running or they would be overrun by the troops.
They eventually got to a spot where the forest started thinning out. They had to keep running though. Two of the greatest force users alive were now the prey running for their lives. They passed by a rock overhang and then ran out of the forest and into an open field.
"No," Ben mouthed as he saw the reason the troops had pushed them this way. In front of them was the might of the First Order. There were lines of ships and AT-AT Walkers in the field. As soon as Ben and Rey had entered the field the First Order had seen them.
Simultaneous blaster fire from the ships and Walkers rained down on Rey and Ben. They both reached out to the force and tried to stop the oncoming fire coming down on them. Even working together and using the strength of their bond, they were no match against all of the blasts.
The force of blaster fire and their powers colliding together sent Rey and Ben flying in the air back into the forest. All Rey could hear was ringing in her ears. Her body was covered with new bruises and burns. There had been blaster fire coming from behind them so while they were flying they had been hit with that as well. Rey had suffered from multiple blaster wounds to the side, shoulder, and stomach. It was more than she could take. She could feel herself fading in and out of consciousness. She was slipping away. Is this what dying feels like, she thought.
Rey looked around for Ben. He had been thrown a little farther than her. He was hurt a lot like her with blaster burns all over from the oncoming fire of the troopers. Their eyes met as they lay dying in the dirt.
Seeing Ben laying on the ground dying disheartened Rey even more. All either of them had ever wanted was to not be alone. Ben had wanted her to take his hand and join him, but she never did. He didn't know though, that she did want to take his hand. Ben's hand. Now though they were going to die, and without Rey ever getting to take Ben's hand. Without him knowing how much he meant to her.
No she wouldn't let them die apart. They would die as they were supposed to. Together as a Dyad.
Rey slowly started crawling towards Ben. When he saw what she was doing he started crawling to her also. It was excruciating for the both of them especially because of the blaster fire from oncoming troops that would hit them damaging them more. They needed to get to each other though. They wouldn't be alone.
Bit by bit they crawled towards each other. Until they were finally within arms length. Rey reached out her hand for Ben's hand so she could finally take it.
Ben was astonished at what she was doing. She was giving him her hand after all of this time. He reached out his hand to hers. Their hands met and lightly touched like they did back when they were in the hut on Luke's island. Their hands clasped together and they could feel the force surging through them stronger than it had been in any of their force bonds. They had found each other and they would not die alone. Ben wanted to make sure Rey knew that.
"You're not alone." Ben choked out. It was the same line he had said to her back in the hut when she had told him she had never felt so alone. Then and now he wanted her to know that he was here with her, until their last breath.
"Neither are you." Rey choked out, blood splattering on the ground. She was here with Ben, her dyad, and that was what mattered.
As their hands were intertwined the growing strength of their bond intensified. Rey realized she was no longer fading in and out of consciousness. She looked down at her wounds and many of them were healing. One look at Ben showed her that he was healing too. Somehow their bond, a dyad, was able to heal them.
She looked up at the troops firing at them and realized some invisible force shield was protecting them from the shots. They drew from their bond but she could feel the reserves running out.
"We have to go," Rey said, "The Resistance will be here soon."
They both got up hands entwined using the strength of each other and their bond to keep going. They were able to make it deeper into the forest using their shield and limping along with each other. Their bond had healed them from death but they were still severely hurt. Rey seemed to be worse than Ben. She was still suffering from the broken ribs and electricity.
The troops were getting harder and harder to fight again. They were enclosing them. Ben realized they would never be able to get to the Resistance through all of them. They would just lead the First Order right to them. Rey and Ben couldn't shake them, not in this condition.
After another hard encounter Rey was leaning on Ben, with her arm wrapped around his shoulder. She was breathing heavily. There were no troops in sight so Ben took this opportunity to go over to a rock structure with a small overhang that he could see. He helped Rey onto the ground and under the overhang. Then he crouched in front of her.
"Why are we stopping," Rey asked, "The troops will catch up to us soon."
"Stay here, I'll come back for you." Ben replied with all of the care in his voice. "If we keep going like this, neither of us will be able to escape. We will lead the horde of them to the Resistance. I have to lead them away so you can stay here and escape when they come. "
"No," Rey exclaimed, sadness tugging on the edge of her voice. "How will you escape?"
"I'll cut back and meet you and the Resistance at the ship, at the last minute so troops won't overrun them," Ben said, but he wasn't sure he believed it. There were so many of them. Ben reached out farther searching for his enemies to find that his Knights were now with them. All the more reason to go. He had to protect Rey from them.
"It's too dangerous," Rey exclaimed, "It will be too hard for you to cut back. This is a death sentence." Rey couldn't take it. They had finally found each other and now he was going to leave, to his death. She couldn't let that happen.
"I have to Rey. You need to be safe. You're too important." Ben replied. Ben knew he had to find a way to convince her that she needed to be saved above all. She was the key to defeating Palpatine.
"But I need you, with me, by my side," Rey said.
Ben solemnly shook his head and lifted a hand up to brush some of Rey's hair behind her ear. Then he replied, "But the galaxy needs you."
"The galaxy needs both of us," Rey countered. Then she put both of her hands lightly on the sides of Ben's face and continued, "I'm here, right here. Stay, please."
This broke Ben's heart. He didn't want to leave her but he had to. For her, for his mother, for the Resistance to win the war. It was bigger than what he wanted.
"I'm sorry, but I have to." Ben replied, tears starting to come down his face.
He was really going to leave, Rey realized. No she couldn't let that happen. She had to give him a reason to stay. She brushed a tear away with her thumb and then leaned over to him and kissed him. A passionate kiss, full of longing and desperation.
Ben was astonished at what was happening but he kissed her fiercely. He put all of his love and sadness into the kiss. While kissing her intensely he ran his hand down her arm then wrapped it around her waist, pulling her closer to him.
Rey kissed him back more fiercely and moved her hands through his black, silky hair. This was how it was meant to be. Them, a dyad, together.
Ben pulled back from Rey, tears streaming down both of their faces. Even with being filled with sadness Ben gave a big toothy smile for Rey. He was happy even in his sadness.
Ben wished he could stay here forever, but he knew what he had to do, and he finally had the strength to do it.
Then in the softest voice filled with longing and sadness Ben said, "I'll come back sweetheart, I promise."
He needed to give her hope, even if he didn't believe it himself.
Rey was stunned at what he said to her. It was the same line that plagued her dreams back on Jakku and from the voice her vision after touching Luke's lightsaber. It had been Ben all along who would say it to her.
Then Ben got up, his hand entwined in hers. He force lifted some boulders into place so they surrounded Rey making her harder to see.
In this moment Rey realized he was truly going to leave, and there was nothing she could do to stop him because he would do whatever it took to keep her safe. She held onto his promise to her like a prayer.
Ben looked into Rey's pleading eyes. He drew strength from knowing he would be protecting Rey and then turned and started walking away. Their hands lingered together for a moment before they slipped out of grasp. Then Ben ran off into the forest in the direction of their enemies.
Rey watched him go. The pain of seeing him leave was worse than her injuries. She was going to lose her dyad. No she couldn't believe that. She had to stay hopeful. He promised her he would come back.
She would have followed him if he could. She tried to, but she could barely move from her injuries. Without holding his hand and drawing from the strength of their bond she couldn't even walk. She knew she could still draw from him from afar, even though it wasn't as strong, but she knew that he would need all of his strength and to draw from Rey to survive. So she waited for the Resistance to arrive. Hoping they would get here in time and Ben could make it back.
Ben ran in the direction of the troopers. They were coming in hordes. He swung his lightsaber in figure eights deflecting the shots, and dashed up to a line of them taking a group of them out with vicious swings from his saber. He could feel Rey feeding him her strength. Their minds stayed connected through their bond so even though she wasn't in the fight she gave him warning and encouragement.
He was striking groups and groups down and leading them away from Rey. He would dash at a group and call out "Hey I'm over here" to infuriate them more. Soon he had hordes chasing him through the forest and he would turn around and pick them off bit by bit.
Rey was laying under the overhang hidden by the boulders Ben had placed. Ben had done a great job at leading them away. Only a few groups had come by this area and they didn't find Rey. After waiting and helping Ben look out for enemies she heard voices coming from the forest. Then as the voices got closer she saw it belonged to Finn, Poe, and a group of other Resistance members.
"Finn! Poe!" she yelled out.
It took a second for them to see her, but then they spotted her and yelled "Rey" and ran over to her. They pulled her out from under the overhang and she hugged both of them telling them how happy she was to see them. Rey had an arm wrapped around both of their shoulders as support for walking.
"What took you so long," Rey gasped, then she looked around at the group of Resistance, "And why is there such a small force?"
"The First Order has a whole blockade of ships guarding this planet," Poe replied, "It took a lot of our might to even get the few of us on here."
"And we had to land on the farther side of the planet because we didn't want to attract attention from the ground troops," Finn added.
They started walking to where the Resistance's ships would be and Rey said to Ben through the bond, the Resistance is here, you need to start making your way back this way so you can meet up with the Resistance. Rey didn't need to tell him a location because he could find her just from the pull of their connection.
Ben heard Rey's message through the bond and it filled him with relief knowing the Resistance was finally here and Rey would be safe.
Ok I'll start to double back and-, Ben's message was suddenly cut off as a shot from the direction he was running hit him in the shoulder. Then out from the tree line The Knights of Ren stalked up to Ben and readied their attack.
"No" Rey screamed aloud as Ben got shot and she felt his dread as the Knights of Ren approached him.
"What is it?" Finn asked.
"He got shot. The Knights. The Knights are going to kill him. We have to turn around and go back for him." Rey exclaimed. She had been bested by the Knights once before. In Ben's current state he would be no match for them.
"Who are the Knights going to kill?" Poe asked, confused.
"Ben," Rey yelled, "They're going to kill Ben."
"Ben?" Poe replied, "You mean Leia's son who turned to the darkside, Kylo Ren."
"Yes," Rey yelled, "but he is good now, I need to save him." Like he saved me, she thought.
Ben was slumped over holding his shoulder. It was a warning shot from his Knight, Kuruk, up in the tree line. His Knights circled him. They were not ones to give quick deaths. They were going to draw this fight out. Ben knew he couldn't take them all. He could probably take them in an uninjured state, but not in the condition he was in now. He could feel the worry from Rey on the other side of the bond. She was trying to convince the Resistance to go back for him. No they couldn't do that. They would head right into a horde of troops and be destroyed.
Rey, he called through the bond, You have to go now. I'll find some way to get back to you.
He would have tried to reason with her more, but his Knights descended upon him, swinging at him here and there. It was all Ben could do to hold them off.
"Rey," Poe was trying to reason with her,"We have to go now or none of us will make it out of here alive."
Then they heard a voice coming over one of the Resistances com units.
"Ground unit, Ground unit, evacuate now the Final Order's fleet is almost here and they are coming to blow up the planet."
"We are on our way," one of the Resistance responded.
Poe and Finn started practically dragging Rey in the direction of escape, but eventually Rey gave up and resorted to trying to walk with them. There was no way she was going to get them to go back and she couldn't make it herself, so she might as well not doom them by fighting against them.
Ben was taking blows from his Knights all around him. He had gashes and broken bones everywhere. He kept trying to break through one of them in order to run back to Rey, but they had surrounded him. There was nowhere to go.
Rey and the Resistance had finally made it back to a group of ships. Poe told the other pilots to take off, while they waited inside their ship for Ben a little longer.
Come on Ben. Where are you? Rey thought.
Ben continued to be bashed by the Knights. His red saber whirring around him blocking strike after strike. Then something changed. All of the Knights seemed to get a command from the comm system in their helmets and then there fighting intensified. They were no longer playing with him. They were trying to kill him.
Ben desperately blocked a downward stroke from Ap'lek's Mandalorian axe, then he flung him backwards with the force. Then he blocked a strike at his side from Trudgen's vibrocleaver, only for Ushar to hit his other side with his mace. Ben's ribs cracked and he doubled over. Ben called the force to push back Ushar but in a blur of motion Vicrul plunged his scythe into Ben's stomach. Vicrul pulled his scythe out of Ben and blood seeped through Ben's black cloths as he crumpled onto the ground. Then the Knights turned and left.
Rey screamed out a cry of anguish. She felt it as Ben was stabbed and could feel his life draining from him. Then she felt his familiar presence as if he was next to her as the galaxies opened and their force bond connected them.
Ben was now laying on the ground of the Falcon. Rey ran over, knelt by him, and wrapped the dying Ben in her arms.
"No, No you can't die, You can't leave me not now." Rey cried.
Somewhere next to her she heard confused inquiries from Finn and Poe who couldn't see Ben. She didn't care.
Ben looked up at Rey. She was here in the forest with him. No it was just a force bond. She was away. Safe. He smiled at knowing she would live.
How could he smile? Rey thought. He was dying and she was going to lose her other half.
Then Ben choked out to Rey, "You have to leave now, they are going to blow up the planet. I'm not going to make it."
"No," Rey replied, "You promised." her voice was breaking now, "You promised me you would come back."
Ben's smile faded and he replied with sadness engulfing every word, "I know, but I'm going to have to break my promise." He wished he didn't have to break his promise. He didn't want to die and leave Rey to defeat Palpatine. He didn't have a choice though. He could feel the force calling him.
No. Rey couldn't comprehend leaving him, but she sensed that Finn and Poe were about to make the ship leave.
Rey brushed strands of hair out of Ben's face so she could take it in fully. He was staring into her eyes memorizing everything. Ben wondered how things would have played out differently if he had never turned to the dark. Would the Resistance have found Rey first or Palpatine? Would their roles have been switched? Would they have ever met? In this moment Ben realized he was happy that his path took him the way it did. It had brought him to Rey. He didn't regret a moment of it. He had saved her and that was what mattered.
Rey entwined her fingers with his and rested her forehead on his.
"Please I need you, I can't do this by myself. I don't belong in this story, I'm just a scavenger."
"But not to me," Ben replied, their faces were so close they could feel the others ragged breath,"Your everything to me, Nothing else matters, Just you. Rey, I l-" but then Ben's was cut off as he started slipping farther away.
"Ben," Rey cried. "I love you. I love you. Please come back to me." Ben was too far gone though. He was at the edge of death. No she wouldn't let him go. Ben mattered. Ben mattered to her, his family, he was someone who deserved saving.
Rey reached out with all of her strength in the bond. She gave to him.
She channeled a part of her life force into his own. Foreheads touching, hands clasped together she could feel his life restoring. Rey could feel what was left of her own strength depleting and their connection fading. Then suddenly in a blink of an eye the force bond ended and Ben was out of sight.
Rey crumpled to the ground and faded into unconsciousness. Using the force like that had affected her greatly. Before she slipped into the darkness she reached out in their bond for Ben, but she couldn't sense him anywhere.
Ben woke with a start. He remembered being in a force bond with Rey and he started slipping away. Then something had happened. Rey. Rey had healed him by giving her part of her life for channeling it through the bond like they had done before. Ben looked down at his stomach and saw that it was healed. He reached out with his mind for Rey, but he couldn't sense her. It seemed like Rey had used up so much of the bonds reserved it had gone silent.
Ben looked up through the trees and he saw a giant Final Order ship in space. He had to go now if he wanted to keep his promise to Rey and find his way back to her. He sprung to his feet and sprinted in the direction of where the Falcon was. It was in bad condition, but it would have to do. Anyways this way he would also be able to save his father's ship.
He ran as fast as he could through the forest, watching as the Final Order ship was probably preparing its planet killing weapon. He also saw First Order troops leaving. The Resistance had been stealthy about where they landed so the Final Order probably thought that they were still roaming around the forest and would get killed from the weapon.
Finally the Falcon was in sight. He ran inside and hurriedly prepped for flight. The Falcon took off and headed for space. He could see the Final Order ship charging up its weapon. Come on, Come on, he thought. He couldn't get caught in the explosion.
He finally breached out of the atmosphere and into space as the weapon went off. The planet exploded and fire and debris engulfed the Falcon. The Falcon would have been torn apart, but just in time Ben jumped to hyperspace and him and the Falcon were spared.
He didn't know where the Resistance's base was, but he knew he had to get to Rey. He didn't know why their bond had gone silent. It seemed like Rey had used too much of its energy. Part of him would have thought it was gone except for a little flicker of it in the back of his mind telling him that Rey was fine.
Nothing would stop him from finding her. He would be there to help her destroy Palpatine once and for all and bring balance to the galaxy.

If you liked this story comment because I have a whole storyline before and after this. This was not the beginning or the end. I knew it wasn't the usual more happy fanfics but I feel like that made it more realistic. I hope you enjoyed.
