Akira's POV

I slowly cracked my eyes open by my head aching. What happened?

I raised my head and saw that it had been rested on Raj's chest and my arms were hugging him. What the heck?!

I awkwardly pulled my arms away and was going to sit up, but my hair was caught in his chain and I leaned in to free it. I was so close to him and even though I hated to admit it he was hot, like very hot.

He had a chiseled chin, aristocratic nose, sooty eyelashes, and full lips. Almost involuntarily, I reached up to brush his hair out of his eyes, but it was the wrong thing to do. He opened his eyes and sat up so fast that I jerked my head away, but my hair was still caught in his chain.

"Oww!" I grabbed my head and turned to free my hair, but couldn't get it out. He pushed my hand aside and gently got my hair out of his chain.

"Uh, thanks," I said looking down. He slowly stood up and reached down to give me a hand but I didn't take it and stood up by myself. It was a mistake, my head throbbed and I almost fell back, but he caught and steadied me. I sighed and thanked him again.

"What happened?" I asked him, "how did we get here?" I looked around and all I could see was the forest.

"You fell into the river last night, I jumped in to help but the current was too strong and dragged me along as well."

"Oh...sorry...?"

"Don't be, it was kind of my fault. I startled you."

That's right, he did. I thought as flashes of the night before came back to me. For a second I was about to angry but then I decided against it. He did jump in after me.

"Where are we?" I asked almost to myself.

"I have no idea..."

"How are we going to get back?"

"I don't know..." He sighed, "let's start moving, maybe we'll be close to some campsite."

I nodded and followed him.

For a while, we walked in silence. This is just my luck. Poor Raj got stuck here because of me... why did I need to go sit so close to the edge?

Raj reached up to move some branches out of the way and I noticed there was blood on his arm.

"Raj you're bleeding!"

"It's nothing, don't worry about it."

"Are you sure? It may get infected."

"It's fine." I dropped the topic and we continued. He seemed annoyed. I mean why wouldn't he be? He's supposed to be on a trip and instead, he's walking around this forest with me.

My clothes were still damp, my head hurt and I was so hungry but I trudged along with Raj. Not about to make him angrier.

"Man, I'm starving." He said after a few minutes. "Didn't even have dinner last night."

Me neither. Cause of you! I thought.

"By the way, why did you decide to go and sit right on the edge of the river? Was there no other suitable seat for you?"

"Ha.Ha." I replied rolling my eyes.

After about five minutes of walking, I took a deep breath, "Thanks... For saving me...I almost drowned but you saved me..." I stumbled over the last words, my face reddening with embarrassment.

I turned around to hide my face but he put his hand on my shoulder and turned me back, "Why are you looking away? This is not your fault, you don't have to feel bad."
