Raj's POV
I had been so angry when I saw the men near her, it was weird... I actually wanted to... hurt them.
I watched her carefully, trying to see if she was hurt. She gripped her right arm closer to herself as if protecting it.
"What happened? Did they-?" I began.
"No, I... slipped," she said sheepishly. The corner of my mouth quirked up, pagal (crazy).
"We have to get out of the rain, let's see if we can find someplace dry," I suggested and she nodded.
Akira's POV
I felt like I could still feel that man's fingers on my face, and I fought the urge to keep wiping it. I kept feeling like there was someone following us and I moved closer to Raj, he seemed to notice.
"What's wrong? Scared?" he asked.
"I-um..." I didn't even have to finish, he moved to the side of my good arm and without saying a word he reached down and took my hand.
I looked up at him, and he just smiled, I smiled back and we started walking. The fear was gone, I stared at our intertwined hands and smiled to myself. In any other scenario, I would have found this awkward but right now it was just what I needed.
Raj and I walked in silence.
"Okay, I think we should rest and we can continue in the morning," Raj suggested. I nodded in agreement.
After a while, the rain had slowed down and we found a tree that had long branches and the ground underneath was relatively dry.
"I'm going to just look around and make sure there isn't anyone nearby."
"Yeah," I answered, I wasn't afraid anymore. He nodded and headed into the trees.
I walked around kicking away the leaves and rocks.
It's okay Akira. I thought. You can do this. Its just one night, it won't be that hard.
"Akira!" I heard Raj call and walked towards the sound, I saw him standing in the trees and walked towards him.
"Yeah?" I asked, "What is it?"
"There is a cabin just down there and it seems to be deserted! C'mon, let's go!"
"Okay," I answered relieved that I didn't have to spend the night on the cold wet ground.
We walked up the few steps to the front door, Raj turned the knob, but it wouldn't open.
I groaned, "Dang it, it's locked."
He smiled, "That can be fixed."
I gave him a questioning look, he walked closer to me and reached behind me and pulled something out my hair; a bobby pin.
He lifted it up and smiled at me. Then he knelt down to pick the lock, after a few minutes we heard a click, he smirked and pushed open the door.
We walked inside and Raj found a light switch. It was small; just one room with a makeshift kitchen in one corner, a desk against another wall. There was a couch by the wall, and there was also a small fireplace in the middle.
"It's..." I began.
"Cozy?" He finished and we both grinned.
"I think it's a ranger's cabin, but no one has been here in a while. I wonder if there is any food..." He said and walked over to the kitchen which was just a few cupboards and a small sink.
I walked over to the fireplace thankfully there was wood in it and I looked around for matches. I found some in a small table beside the fireplace after I had a fire going, I looked over to see what Raj was doing. It looked like he has found something and pouring water into a little pot.
