" WHO ARE YOU TEXTING? " harrison asked pushing himself up from his spot on the couch across from tom who had been too busy to look up once as the show he himself had chosen continued to play in the back ground.

"no one" tom replied, keeping his eyes on the phone, a smile playing on his lips as aria insisted on calling him an old man.

"no one? tuwaine, does it look like he's talking
to no one?" harrison turned to their other friend who was shuffling a deck of cards in his hands, uninterested in what they were watching.

"he's acting like a love sick puppy" tuwaine shrugged. "he's rolling his eyes but still texting, and look at that smile, wonder who managed to snag his attention."

tom rolled over onto his back to avoid his nosey friends getting close to his new contact. most of his life he shared with everyone, his family, his friends, the fans who he adored and everyone in between, and even though he had teased her into exposing their slight friendship, for the most part, aria was still just his.

"did he just turn away from us? how rude." harrison scoffed as tom stuck his tongue out in a childish act and burrowed his head under the blanket.

aria sent him another message claiming she hated him, which by now, tom knew was a major lie.

he typed his response and locked the phone. "i'm not talking to anybody, i'm just scrolling through instagram."

"liar." harrison huffed.

"who's a liar." that was sam.

he walked into the room and plopped onto the couch beside tom, pushing his brothers legs off to make room for himself.

"tom. he's talking to someone, and grinning, but won't tell us who." tuwaine responded.

"since when has who i'm talking to been your concern?" tom groaned.

"since i because your best friend, now fess up."

sam took that moment of his brother being distracted to grab the phone from where it laid abounded, a new message on the screen from a username he didn't recognize.

"tell them i said hi, from aria hale." tom pouted and tried to get his phone back but his brother ignored him. "who's this aria?"

tuwaine shot up. "isn't it that girl who called you sexy?"

"a lot of girls call him sexy, you're gonna have to be more specific." sam chuckled tossing the phone to harrison who caught it and unlocked it.

"she was commenting on his twitter, and he was in her instagram comments. she was a cute blonde." he told them, tapping his chin.

"she's cute alright," harrison laughed, showing them a picture that aria had posted a few months back, one tom had stared at longer then he would ever admit.

"can i have my phone back?" tom sighed, holding his hand out.

but instead of tom getting it, sam snatched it back and started scrolling through the messages they'd sent back and forth in the last two weeks.

"i think she likes you tommy." sam teased.

his lord and savior walked into the room with a basket of laundry on her hip. "dinners almost done, if you guys are planning on staying." his mother said eyeing them. "what are you doing?"

"they won't give me my phone back." tom whined.

his mother chuckled and shook her head. "sam, give your brother his phone back."

"but he has a girlfriend!"

"she's not my girlfriend." tom defended. "i don't even have her number."

"then ask for it genius." harrison rolled his eyes.

"sam, stop teasing your brother and give him his phone back," nikki sighed, her hands on her hips. "and tom, if there's a girl you like, i want to meet her."

"i haven't even met her yet." he grumbled under his breath.
