"Thank you for having me here, your highness," I said softly smiling a little at the handsome prince in front of me.
"Have a seat princess" Prince Mustafa said sitting down on the bed before pointing to a chair that had no back that was placed right in front of the bed.
"Thank you" I sat down and looked at him with my hands in my lap fiddling nervously.
"So princess you said that it was an urgent matter" he started right to business.
"Ah yes, you see my prince I'm being hunted down by the Vatican so they can kill me" I explained.
"And the reason," he asked unsure of what I was saying was true or a lie.
"I stole a letter when I was visiting there with my family and that letter holds a great secret that involves the Othman empire," I said hoping he will believe me.
"Oh really? Where's that letter?" He asked raising his eyebrow.
I pulled the letter from it's hiding place in my sleeve and handed it to him. He took it consciously from me and opened it to show the gibberish that was written on it.
"What language is this?" He asked looking up at me in confusion.
"It's not a language your highness it's a code" I explained with a smile as realization filled his features.
"How do we break the code?" He asked placing the letter down beside him on the bed.
"Do you have wine?" I asked making me cock an eyebrow up in confusion.
"To break the code you must pour wine over the letter and that is the only way to show the secret ink" I explained. He must've thought I wanted to drink the wine, I do drink wine but not for fun but in church only.
"When the sultan arrives we will break the code, for now, please rest," Mustafa said standing up, I followed suit and bowed.
That was my cue to leave, I walked out of the door to see the sultana still standing there but beside her now stood a pregnant lady who looked at me with sharp eyes.
"Sultana" I addressed her as I bowed.
"Sunbul shows the princess the room she will be staying in until the Marmara castle is ready to welcome her," Sultana Mahidevran said.
"Thank you for your hospitality Sultana," I said one last time before leaving with Sunbul and madam Cecilia.
"Did you give him the thing?" Madam asked in a hushed tone.
"Yes, but he wants to wait for the sultan to arrive before breaking the code" I explained as a woman walked over to Sunbul making him stop midway.
"Sunbul, sultana Hurrem wants to see the princess," she said looking at me before looking back at him.
"Ah yes of course. This way princess" he said and started walking in a different direction.
When we reached a door Sunbul stopped and told us to wait before walking in to inform the sultana that we arrived.
I walked in with madam behind me to see a red-headed beautiful woman sitting there with an even more beautiful brunette beside her.
"Sultana" I bowed to her.
"Ah, princess Thyra," she said standing up.
"Welcome to Istanbul I hope you're enjoying your visit," she said.
"Yes thank you, I'm enjoying it very much" I thanked her with a smile.
"This is my daughter Sultana Mihrimah" she interdicted pointing to the brunette who now stood up.
"Welcome princess," she said smiling at me.
"Thank you, sultana. You truly are beautiful like they say, the moon and sun beauty" I complimented. She as the sultan's only daughter and making her an enemy was something I don't want not now at least.
"Thank you for your kind word princess. I'm sure you're tired of the way. Sunbul take her to the wing we prepared for her" she ordered Sunbul who bowed and opened the door for me.
I bowed and walked out with madam beside me. Sunbul took us to a room that was slightly bigger than my room on the ship.
"If you need anything princess ask Jamile hatun she'll be standing outside the door," Sunbul said pointing to a petite girl with brown her. She bowed when I looked at her before they both left me and madam alone in the room.
After resting for a couple of hours I sat with madam beside the window that was in my room watching the night sky as the stars shined in the sky.
The doors opened making me look to see Mahidevran sultan walk in, I jumped up and bowed to her respectfully.
"Sultana" I smiled at her as she walked closer to where I was sitting. Madam bowed one last time before taking her leave.
"I came over to see if you were comfortable in your wing," she said stopping in front of me.
"Yes I am very comfortable, thank you for your concern" I smiled at her kindly.
"Mustafa explained to me what you did and I'm not really sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing," she said eyeing my weapons that sat beside me on a table.
"It's a good thing for the Othman's but not the Vatican. The letter contains a secret about you I'm sure and that secret is dangerous because if it wasn't then they wouldn't want my head" I explained.
"Why did you steal the letter?" She asked almost sounding like she was integrating me.
"I killed the prince of Denmark," I said casually making her eyes widen.
"Why?" She asked raising her eyebrow.
"My parents wanted to force me into a marriage with him" I explained feeling a shudder go through my body at the thought of marrying a snobbish prince like him.
"So you stole the letter so you have a bargain with us to protect you from the Vatican who wants to kill you for killing the Danish prince," she said putting the pieces together.
"Exactly sultana" I smiled at her. She was a clever woman unlike what I heard.
"You know that I will tell my son this right?" She said smiling slightly.
"Oh, of course, I don't want to hold any secrets from the prince, this is a serious matter and I do not wish to be unfaithful and untruthful with the prince and sultan" I smiled back almost smirking. I told no lie, I just know how to play my cards that's all.
"Welcome to Istanbul princess," she said smiling before walking out. I bowed smiling before sitting down. I know now that I had Mahidevran's trust I just need to gain the prince's and the sultan's.
