On the way to the hospital, I was uneasy, I have been getting myself prepared for when the baby has arrived but I wasn't prepared for birth the way I thought I was. I was nervous and scared for me and my baby boy.

Dante and the guys were working on the nursery and I haven't been allowed to see it until we bring home the baby. He said he didn't want to stress me with that but I have a feeling the room is all blue which would be so cliche, a neutral room would be so much better but I will accept whatever Dante has done, as he wanted to surprise me.

I think about that and it seems to put me at ease, my baby and I will see his room for the first time when we come back. "Gattina" I turn to look at Dante who has been intensively looking at me. "Yes?" He comes closer linking our foreheads together "Are you ready?"

I smile "I really don't have a choice now, Do I?" I peck his lips "I will be fine, we will be fine" I have been panicking but I haven't thought Dante was as well, "I just don't want to see you in pain" I smile somehow content and then another contraction came "Oh God!" Seems to be getting more and more painful.

I take deep breaths in and out to try to calm myself from the pain. We finally get to the hospital and the wheelchair is already waiting for me. "I can walk" I say try to pass the wheelchair which Dante scolded me for. "Sit Nicole" I huff and glare at him sitting down.

He wheels me inside the hospital passing the receptionist as if he owns the place, maybe he does at this point I don't know. I wave at the nurses smiling at me. Once we reach the room, its a nice room, with a huge couch on the side. Dante picks me up and puts me on the bed.

Still looking around the room, he rests his head on my shoulder. I lean into his head, "I got this, right?" He hums and Nods "You do babygirl" Nadine works in smiling, "Good evening soon to be parents!" She was too excited, I smile "Hi Nadine" she comes to hug me. "How are you? Dante how far are the contractions?"

"10 minutes apart" Dante says looking at his watch. Donna and Stefano come in with my bag. "Thank you" I say when they put it on the couch. "No problem, the family will be right next door, at the lounge. We will be there if you need us" I smile And nod at the both of them. "Donna will you please call my gran?" She smiles "Sure love, need anything else?" No I'm good for now" she nods and leaves.

"Alright lets get you changed, shall we?" Nadine says smiles, after a while after changing to a hospital gown, My gran comes in smiling at me, she kisses me cheek. "I am so proud of you" I giggle "I haven't done anything yet gran" she smiles brushing my hair out of my Face, "You are bringing life to this world, that is something anyone should be proud of"

I tear up with a wobbly smile, "Thank you, I can't wait to see him" she smiles, "me too sweetheart, I'll be right on the couch okay?" I nod smiling and humming to myself as so to keep me calm and distracted from the contractions.

After what seems like hours, Nadine comes to check up on me again. "The cervix is 6cm dilated, 4 more and you can push okay?" I nod not having the energy to talk, Dante tried by all means to keep me sane but he was annoying me and he knew to back off at this point but stay in my view. He had left before without informing me and I was pissed, I yelled at him which I then regretted after.

He wasn't mad at me though, he simply apologized and told me he won't be living anymore. He seemed tired, exhausted. My gran was peacefully sleeping on the couch while Dante was trying to stay awake.

"Sleep love, I'll wake you up when it time" I say with a timid voice as I was trying to focus on my body. He shakes his heard no, looking at me. I sigh and reach for my phone, calling Donna. She comes in after seconds not even answering my call. "Whats wrong?" I smile at her "please stay with me while Dante naps for a little bit" she smiles and nods.

"I'm not sleeping babygirl" Dante says grumbling "Yes you are" I say glaring at him. "You better take that nap now" Donna says glaring at him as well. He huffs and finally closes his eyes. "Finally" I say whispering, "he has been up since yesterday morning" nods chuckles "yeah he is a workaholic"

"How are you feeling" "Not great, they get worse every hour And I just want to push him out already" she chuckles "well you will soon" 2 hours later and I was fully dilated. Donna woke up Dante and Gran, I was ready to get this baby out. Donna kisses me goodluck and leaves. Dante and gran hold my hands as three nurses and Nadine get ready.

"Alright sweetheart, I need to take one deep breath and push as hard as you can, okay?" I nod looking at Dante "you got this love" he whispers to me I nod and push squeezing both their hands, "Good sweetheart, again" I push again tears coming out.

After my fourth push the head was almost out, "one more push love, one big one" I prepare my self mentally and push as hard as I can. "Thats it! Don't stop sweetheart just keep going!" and then like a swoosh feeling, I could feel my baby all out. But I couldn't here his cry , I open my eye looking at Nadine, she is carrying my baby boy who isn't crying.

A sob comes out of me, "Nadine whats going on?!" They cut the umbilical cord and move my baby to the side, Dante squeezes my hand, his eyes closed. I look at there back until I hear a loud cry, I stop sobbing, suddenly feeling like so much better, I look at Dante who has tears running down his face.

They bring our son to me, "He is okay mommy, Don't you worry" Nadine says putting this big chubby little boy on me. He had thick black hair like his fathers, rosy cheeks like mine. I kiss his forehead as he calms down from crying Dante rubs his head, "ciao giovane principe, ti stavamo aspettando"  [Hello young prince, we have been waiting for you]

My little baby opens his eyes and Dark green orbs show. "Such beautiful eyes" Gran says smiling down with tears coming down her face. " What have you guys named him?" I turn to look at Dante as he wanted to name our baby boy and if we have a girl, I will be naming her, "Domenico Dante Moretti" Dante says smiling at the baby. "Nico for short" I say chuckling "I love it" I say smiling

"Thank you babygirl" I look up at him in admiration. "You're welcome" I say smiling, he chuckles shaking his head. The nurses come back, "we have to clean him and also way the little one ma'am" I nod passing my baby to them. "I'll go with them" Dante says and kisses my forehead. I nod knowing he will be extra careful with our baby now. More protection for us I guess.

After a while they come back, "he is one big baby" one of the nurses says while give me my baby. I giggle "how big is he?" She smiles "he weighs 9 lbs 7" "is he healthy?" "Very much ma'am you do not have to worry" I nod and thank them. At least he is healthy.  Dante takes off his shirt as he had to do the skin to skin contact with Nico.

He sits on the chair next to me and holds our boy carefully while resting him in his chest. Slowly the family came in to see the baby. They were all taken away by how chubby and beautiful his eyes were. "Congratulations balloons and flowers filled my room and I was so content knowing I have now become a mother after a year of falling inlove, having a family that accepted me as on of their own and now I finally have my own little family.

I turned to look at Dante as he was looking at me as well, "I love you" I said smiling at him. He smirked "More than anything in this world and beyond it" he says kissing my lips. I sigh happily and turn to Marco holding my baby to his chest, he has been waiting on this day. To finally baby sit Nico.

"I'm proud of you both" Diego says on the while smiling at us. We both smile at him "You will make great parents" "Yes they will" Francesca says with tears in her eyes. And I will make sure my baby is loved and cared for till my last day on earth.
