This is an AU where they go through school with their ingame personalities. It is also non-despair.

*Shuichi's POV*

"Hey bud! You leaving already?" I looked back at my uncle while opening the door.

"Yeah, I dont wanna be late." I explained before walking out the door. I put my earbuds in and started walking to school.

*Time Skip*

I walked into my first period class (science) and watched as everyone introduced themselves. Eventually it was my turn. "My name is Shuichi Saihara, I'm the ultimate detective." I stated while catching a kid with green hair staring at me.

After introductions we were sat in our assigned seats. I sat with the green haired guy who was staring earlier and a guy with spikey purple hair. I recognized them as Rantaro Amami and Kaito Momota.

Kaito liked to talk... a lot. He told me "we're friends now! You dont have a choice." It startled me but I got used to his chattering.

Rantaro introduced himself again instead of rushing into a conversation. "I'm Rantaro Amami, ultimate Adventurer, I'm not a bad guy I promise!"

"Shuichi Saihara." I repeated softly before covering my eyes with my hat.

"Saihara, you sound kinda like a girl." Kaito stated. "Not to be rude, or anything, just wondering why you sound like that."

"Hmm." I murmured before shifting my eyes to the paper I was writing on.

The next two classes played out in a similar way, but with different people and no comments on my voice. I met many people who seemed sweet enough. I wrote about them in my notepad so I could remember the information that they gave me. I forgot to write about Amami so I'll have to talk to him again.

I gently put my notepad in my pocket before walking into the cafeteria. I sat alone while thinking about the people I had met in the past few hours. Suddenly someone had sat across from me...
