[ Chapter Six ]

I WAS ALL ALONE NOW in the living room, watching some television but I wasn't paying attention. Instead, I was munching on some marshmallows, hoping to end falling asleep soon. I didn't care if I would wake up with a sore body but I just wanted this day to be over with already.

"Mark's gone." I heard Mom announce as she entered the living room making me choke a bit on my snack in shock

"What? What do you mean?" I questioned Mom after I sat up and swallowed on the marshmallow, looking at her

"He left a note, Jamie. He left home." Mom started to say to me before tears started to trail down her cheeks 

"I'll stay at home with Nigel & Kyle, Mom. Take Gunner with you guys and have him with Mike. I'll make some phone calls." I told my Mom, hoping to calm her down and it worked 

"Thank you, Jamie. Call us if you hear something." Mom said to me making me nod my head as Dad and the rest of my siblings except Nigel & Kyle rushed down

"Mark! Mark! Mark! Mark! Mark!" I heard my siblings yell out as they rushed outside and I bit my lower lip worriedly

"Rocky, Deke, has Mark called any of you two?" I asked Gail's younger siblings over the phone as I paced around the living room

"No, we haven't spoken to Mark in almost a week." Rocky said to me over the phone to me making my eyes widen a bit 

"Oh, thanks. If you hear from him, please have him call me." I informed them before I hung up on the phone, glancing at the dark sky through the curtain

"Hey, Beth. Sorry for calling at this time but I was wondering if Mark had called you or something?" I asked Beth, hoping that she would say

"No, sorry. Why?" Beth asked me and I could hear the concern in her voice making me shut my eyes firmly 

"Mark ran away, I'm calling the people that he knows." I informed Beth quietly as I rubbed my forehead 

"Oh, no. He hasn't called but if he does I'll make sure to call you back." Beth said to me making me sigh in relief

"Hello?" I heard Nora ask over the phone as she answered my call making me smile sadly as I now sat between the beds of Nigel & Kyle

"Hey, Mark ran away. Is he with you?" I asked my older sister hopefully as I let my head fall back against the wall

"No. We'll come help you look." Nora said to me making me smile as I turned my head to stare at the twins who kept on sleeping
