Album: Mr Tambourine Man
Artist: The Byrds
Running Time: 31:35
Review:
Despite hearing a lot of good things about The Byrds, I never actually took the time to sit down and listen to many of their songs. The praise they get from critics made me really excited to listen to this album, but for some reason it didn't really blow me away. Obviously I understand the importance of Mr Tambourine Man for the folk rock scene, but I just... didn't really get into it. Don't get me wrong -- it's not a bad album at all. The musicians are insanely talented and I loved their vocal harmonies. However, a lot of the songs sounded relatively similar, and to be honest halfway through the songs started to blend together. Unless you're a fan of folk rock, I'd say skip this album.
Standout songs: Mr Tambourine Man, I Feel A Whole Lot Better
Score: 6/10
