BTS introduction

Kim Namjoon

RM was the first member to join BTS and is the leader of the group. He's known for his amazing rapping skills and his sweet personality.

Full Name: Kim Namjoon
Position: Main Rapper, Leader
Age: 24 (September 12th 1994)

RM aka the 'God of Destruction' is known for breaking things easily and being the worst cook this planet has ever seen (but we love him no matter what).

Namjoon really is a walking desaster and jokes are even made about it by the other members. Sometimes you're just wondering how he does it.. Like how does he manage to break everything he touches..

But we stan a chaotic Namjoonie. If you really are completely new to this fandom I'd recommend looking it up on youtube cause it's just one big inside joke and there are too many moments to point out. For example the countless number of times he lost his passport or the one time he tried cutting an onion which is just iconic and will never get old. He's just someone who doesn't need to try to be funny so he's really good at unintentionally making the other members laugh, especially Taehyung (sorry lol). But anyways despite Namjoon's chaotic personality he's an amazing leader and takes wonderful care of the other members. He takes his responsibility very seriously and does an incredible job at keeping them all together. He always makes sure that everyone is alright and that fights are getting solved out. That's also why he's often reffered to as the dad of the group. If he's not being chaotic himself he's usually busy taking care of his children (especially the maknae line).

But Namjoon does not only have a wonderful personality he's also know for his incredible skills at rapping and his musical talent in general.
RM's original stage name "Rap Monster" was inspired by a lyric from a predebut song where he had to scream "RAP MONSTER!". Ever since his nickname is stuck with him and the staff so he decided to use it as his stage name.
He later on changed it to 'RM' because he thought that it was no longer a representative of the type of music he wanted to do in the future. Namjoon always puts his heart and soul into every single performace and it definitely shows.

During choreographies he's often positioned in the back. One reason could be his height but some fans have also said that his dancing looks kind of robotic at some points. But honestly that doesn't matter because his stage presence is still overall amazing.
And he's not only very talented when it comes to music in fact Namjoon is also extremely smart in general. He has an IQ of 148 and used to be one of the top students in Korea academically.
His nickname might be the God of Destruction but he's also known for being a genius.

RM always had a passion for music and especially rapping. When he was younger he used to hide his lyric paper from his mom until he finally decided that he wanted to make music for a living. His skills are amazing and I'm gald his passion for music never left. You can tell that he loves his fans with his whole heart and appreciates all the love he's getting back.
Namjoon is usually the one who talks the most during american interviews because he's fluent in english. He has tought himself how to speak english by watching Friends and has also grown up idolizing Eminem. Sure he still makes some mistakes here and there but to be honest his english sounds perfect to me and I still don't get how he's able to speak so effortlessly with barely having an accent.
