The next chapter was also supposed to be a part of this, but even after putting this part as a separate chapter, the next one is long, so it's a continuation of this. Enjoy!

The next evening, the Matthews were enjoying their weekend together in the living room. They were watching a movie together; the environment was overall peaceful, what with James trying to steal Sherin's popcorn, Sherin running away, and the parents laughing at their children's antics, the movie completely forgotten. It felt like home. Little had they known that this would be the last time they felt at home.

Soon, the four of them just sat around, talking about the movie, at least the part they saw. "II felt bad for those two kids. Their parents were so brutally killed in front of their eyes." said Mrs. Matthews. "Yeah, good thing I didn't let Sherin see." said James, playfully ruffling his sister's hair. "Hey! Don't touch my hair! " said Sherin, pouting cutely and trying to fix her hair. "And that was the part I wanted to see! I know what death is!"

"Wanted to see?!? You little sadist!" said James, dramatically putting his hand on his heart.

Suddenly, the doorbell rang, interrupting their conversation. "That must be the pizza. I'll go get it." said Mr. Matthews, getting up and walking to the door. The rest of the family just sat there, having a light conversation, when they suddenly heard shouting All three of them got up and went to the living room, only to see a man with a lot of scars holding Mr. Matthews at gunpoint with a distance of just about two feet, from where one shot would be enough to blow anyone's brains out of their skull.

"Hand over the girl and I'll leave your husband. Save her and he dies."
