Should Turkey be on lockdown during the Coronavirus outbreak?
Obviously, COVID-19 is a massive issue, which will affect nearly everyone. It's spread like wildfire across the world, and even countries who got it later on, such as the UK and the USA are suffering badly. So far, a couple of countries haven't gone into lockdown yet, including America and Turkey. I'm going to talk about Turkey because tbh I've lost faith in Trump. He clearly doesn't care about his people.
Anyway.
Turkey's cases have been spiking, with the Mayor of Istanbul asking for a lockdown. Currently, the government's policy on the COVID-19 outbreak is "the wheels of the economy must keep turning", which is dumb imo given that hundreds of thousands of people are dying worldwide. Turkey also has the benefit of being able to compare what happens when countries do or don't lock down - Austria did so immediately, and have now flattened the curve. America didn't, and now cases are rocketing.Let me know what you think, and if you have any American/Turkish friends, feel free to tag them
