I run to my theatre class. "Crud crud crud! I'm late!!" I mumble, panicing. I walk in. "Hey YN! Your just in time for the double bell pairings. Come sit." My teacher says. "Your not mad at me?" I ask, shocked. "Not at all. Now, each of you in the fourth bell, you will draw a name for fifth bell, and you will make a short show to preform in a few weeks. Alright? YN, your up first." My teacher says. I shrug and put my arm in the box. Hmmm... This one! I think, grabbing the paper. I look at the name. Matthew Patrick. "Hey Matt! We got a show!" I say. "Yes!" He says in victory. I go sit beside him, and we high five. "You may have the rest if the bell to come up with an idea." Our teacher says. "So I was thinking we'd do something with a forbidden love kinda vibe. What do you think?" I ask. "I like it. What if one of us dressed up as an animal, and the other a human?" He asks. "I can do that. I'll make the costumes. I'll be a tigress?" I ask. "That sounds nice. Do you want me to wear normal clothing?" He asks. "Yeah. I'll make the ears and tail for me. I'll probably wear a leather jacket and boots. It'll look great!" I say. The bell rang. "I'll have to get the fabric tonight. I won't be able to stay after. I'll see you tomorrow." I say, running to my next class. And I'm stopped by the one and only, Ace. "Ace. I'm busy tonight. My answer is no, " I say calmly, walking past him into my next class.
-After School-
Mom gave me a hundred to pay for the fabric and other things I might need. If your asking how, I stopped by her work. I go to the store and look for the fabric. "This is perfect!" I exclaim quietly, looking at a tiger print fabric. I put it in my cart, along with the stuffing, orang thread, wire, and some cotton balls. "This should be everything I need over here." I mumble, walking to the clothing section. I grab a leather belt and put it in my cart. I walk over to cut the fabric and pay. "I'd like a yard and a half please." I say. "Sure thing." She says, measuring then cutting the fabric. "That'll be $57.45." She says. I give her the hundred and she gives me the change. I double check I have all of it, and leave with my bags. Since we were doing a skit, I got an excuse to get Matt's number. I look at my phone. Did you get the fabric? Matt asks. Yeah. I gotta sew now. TTYL. I respond, driving home. I walk out with my bags, go up to my room, and plug in the seeing machine on my desk. I quickly sew the tail, and stuff it. I grab the wire I bought, and put it in the tail so I'll be able to shape it. I sew the tail to the back of the belt, shape it so it has a bit of a curve at the end, and try it on. "That worked better then expected." I say, walking around my room. I do the ears, and after a few failed attempts, finally get the shade of it. I pull apart some of the cotton balls, and hot glue them inside the ears. After that dries, I hot glue each ear to a hairpin. "Perfect!" I say, cleaning up. I put the extra materials in a bin in my closet.
-At theatre the next day-
"Alright. I'm going to assume one of you went overboard and already made your costume or costumes. Who was it?" Our teacher asks. I raise my hand. "Do you have your outfit with you?" She asks excitedly. "Yeah. I wanted Matthew to see it. I'm sorry, but everyone else is going to have to wait til the show." I say. Everyone groans. We split off into different groups, and like always, me and Matt are in the back. "Technically, I'm already wearing half my outfit. Let me just..." I mumble, puting on the belt and ears.
(That's a quick sketch of what it looks like. Boots and jacket are black, jeans are light blue, belt is brown)
I quickly take the costume off once Matt got a good look at it. "Alright. Do you want to incorporate a song into it, or just make a standard script?" I ask. "What was that song you were humming at the park?" He asks, then digs into the pocket. "They Don't Tell You. What's in your pocket?" I say. "The picture. I got it fitted for your locket." He says, opening my locket and putting it inside. "Thanks." I stutter, blushing a bit. "I can come up with a script surrounding it. You just give me the lyrics, and you record the instrumentals." Matt says. "Alright. Let me just take out my phone and I'll send you the file I have it in." I say, quickly sending it to him. "Can you stay after tonight? I need to ask you something." He asks. "Sure. See you tonight MatPat." I say, smirking at the nickname I gave him. "If I become famous, that's going to be my name. The genius YN!" He says. I blush at his words. The bell rings and I rush out to my next class. Since study hall was before or after theatre, we were aloud to double bell.-After school-
"What did you want to say to me Matt?" I ask. "Oh! I um... I-I'm glad your my f-friend YN." He stutters, blushing. "I'm glad your my friend too. Good luck on the script. I gotta record some I instrumentals. See ya!" I say, waving. "See ya." He says. I run home, and grab my guitar and drums. I play each instrument individually, then out the sounds together. I smile, and save it to a hard drive. I retire for a night, smiling.
