After selling the coals, Naruki was trudging back up when a lone villager looking through his window, insisted he slept over in his house since night was about to fall. Before sleeping, the man told a tale about demons lurking in the night and eating people in their homes.' So you be careful boy. When night falls like this, find shelter and pray the demons don't perceive your smell'. Naruki asked if they were safe.' No, but when the demon slayers come, we're safe'.
The next morning, bright and early, Naruki set off for home. Climbing up the mountain, he didn't notice anything amiss till he was almost at the door of the hut. He stopped in his track, his mouth hung open. In front of him, on the snow white floor now turned red, lay his sister, Kirumi and their little brother. Her white dress was bloodied and a gash was open on her shoulder. Quickly, he ran inside, calling his mother and his other siblings.' Mama! Rensi! Tejia! Genoa! Ma-'. Only to stop short, his cry fading on his lips. Shock and fear rendered him speechless and motionless. There in front of him lay his dead, motionless family. Empty eyes stared back at him. Faces engraved with fear so,tangible, it mocked him, disfigured limbs coloured the floor.ΠΠΠΠΠΠΠΠΠΠΠΠΠΠΠΠΠΠΠΠΠΠΠΠ
