Spencer didn't know it but Adeline visited his Mother monthly. She loved talking to her about Spencer and his wild FBI adventures. Diana was also a positive motherly figure in her early adulthood, and she thanked her everyday for that.

"So what flavored tea are you in the mood for today Diana?" Adeline smiled brightly at the last connection she had with Spencer, and filled a styrofoam cup with hot water. "Let's go something herbal today." She tight-lipped smiled back, something Spencer inherited from her. She dropped an herbal tea bag into the hot water and set it down in front of Diana as she fiddled with chess pieces. "Did Spencer ever teach you to play? He taught me how to once but I've forgotten by now." Adeline sipped on her tea while Diana organized the chess pieces on the board. "I knew how to play, but of course I could never beat Spencer he's the best at it."

Adeline giggled at her, knowing this is the truth. Spencer would let her win sometimes, so she wouldn't get upset about losing. "How's Ellis?" Diana asked, moving a chess piece then looking up at her. "He's um good. He's very paranoid. He's questioned my whereabouts a lot lately. I don't appreciate it but I respect that he has trust issues, considering I have them as well..." She trailed off, not wanting to tell Spencer's Mom that her sons a bastard who shouldn't have left her.

"You guys still having a happy marriage?" Diana asked while Adeline moved a chess piece. She nodded, turning the ring on her finger. "Does he know you still love Spencer?" Diane took Adeline completely off guard. She didn't look up from the chess board and neither did Diana. Before Adeline could respond, Diana asked, "Does Spencer know you still love him?"

Now thoughts flooded Adeline's brain and she couldn't focus on the chess game. She looked up at Ms. Reid and she kept her eyes calmly on the chess board, analyzing her next move. Should she have told Spencer she still loves him before getting married? Does she even love Ellis as much as she thought? Is this considered cheating, seeing Spencer's Mom?

"I just remembered that I didn't feed Louie this morning. I better go before he keels over." Adeline lied, while picking up her bag. "If it helps you at all, I don't think Spencer has seen anyone since you." Diana said before Adeline walked out, still not looking up from the chess board.

Adeline was snapped out of her trance when she heard foot steps coming towards the crawl space. She braced for impact when she heard them near the opening, then she heard something that made her sick.

"Daddy?" A little girls muffled voice spoke out from behind the board that blocked the entrance to the crawl space. Adeline choked out a cry in astonishment; this monster had a child, and a wife, while he kept her down here. She quickly cleared her emotions from her head and scrambled over the the crawl space opening and pounded her fists on the board. She heard the clanging of metal with ever pound, meaning there was probably a lock or chain.

"Daddy?" The girl said with a more questionable tone. Adeline heard the sound of a slide lock, like someone was opening the crawl space.

The area was flooded with light as it opened, and it revealed a small red headed girl, no more than four years old. She blinked blankly at Adeline as they stared at each other. Adeline couldn't believe that she might've just been granted her freedom by a four year old girl.

"H-Hi. What's your name?" Her voice quivered, holding back tears due to the overwhelming sense of hope she just got. "Addison." The little girl overly pronounced her name. "That's such a pretty name. My names Adeline. Is your daddy home?" Adeline was careful not to scare her, and make her leave. "We're playing hide and go seek." She said with cheer in her tiny voice. Adeline's heart dropped. He's still somewheres in the house. "Has your daddy ever hid down here before?" She swallowed down the fear that made her skin crawl. "No, me and Mommy are not allowed in the basement, but he left the door open."

Adeline had a million different ways that she thought to escape, but couldn't narrow it down to a way that she didn't get killed. "Why are you in my basement?" Addison asked. Well cutie your Dad is a psychopath, is what Adeline wanted to tell the child, but she refrained. "Your Daddy and I were playing hide and go seek too. Do you think you can grab the key over there so I can help you find him?" The little girl smiled brightly in excitement at the thought of a helper in the game. She ran over to the small table where the keys for the cuffs had laid, and grabbed them.

Before she could return to Adeline with them, heavy foot steps quickly came down the wooden stairs and the man was there before she could even think. "Addison what are you doing down here!?" The man shouted at his daughter, his ski mask on, and grabbed the keys from her small hands. Adeline's heart shattered, her only chance of escaping being ripped away right in front of her. "You left the door open so I came to find you! Why are you wearing that over your face?" She was a really curious child with many questions.

"Well Daddy was going to jump out and scare you when you found him." He lifted Addison into his arms and stared straight at Adeline with an evil glare. She let out shaky breaths followed by slow tears streaming down her face. That was her chance, her one chance.

He walked away with the little girl in hand, leaving Adeline to sit chained in the crawl space, staring out into the basement area. Now all that she could do was pray Addison would tell her Mom about the woman in the basement playing hide and seek with Daddy.
