Hear Me Now

Chapter 1 - Love Me, Won't You? 

After a long night of jumping in rain puddles, the two collapsed in one of the big puddles. Phil falling on Dan.

The two laughed, Dan closed his eyes and forcing the biggest smile ever.

"Mr Howell, may I get your permission?" Phil asked, in the fanciest voice he could manage.

"What is it, Mr Lester?" Dan replied playfully.

"Can I kiss you?" Phil asked awkwardly and blushed, still lying on top of Dan.

"Phil, uh, well, I'm sorry but, I can't, I just can't do this," the younger boy's smile disappeared and so did the older one's.

Phil stood up from Dan and helped the younger boy up. The two were soaking wet but didn't mind.

The walk home was silent, none of them spoke for the whole walk.

Soon, the silence was broken, "I'm sorry." Phil mumbled.

Dan didn't reply, he just kept walking, it worried Phil. He felt so guilty.

"Dan?" Phil grabbed the younger boy's shoulder.

"Don't touch me!" Dan exclaimed.

Phil took his hand away and let Dan go. He stood there, in the cold rain, looking as Dan slowly disappeared in the frosty mist.

"I'm sorry..." A tear escaped his eye, then, he broke out into crying, crying an endless ocean of tears.

~ The Next Morning ~  

     Dans POV 

I woke up to the sound of rain hitting against my window.

Flashbacks of last night clouding up my mind. Not letting me go.

I had to get it out of my mind somehow, I just couldn't stand it, just the thought of it got me hurt.

Why did Phil ask this? Did he mean a friendly kiss or something more?

I am so confused.

Did he even come home last night?

At the thought of the last thing I dropped the cornflakes and they were all over the kitchen floor.

I run to Phil's door and hesitated when I reached the handle.

With many thoughts passing through my head telling me not to open the door, I fought them away.

I opened the door.

I was relieved when I saw Phil sleeping calmly on his side, Lion pressed againt his chest with Phil's hand.

Phil's eyes suddenly were spread wide open and I just stood there, at his door, not knowing what to do.

"Dan, Dan... I-I thought you hate me... do you hate me, Dan, do you?" A tear escaped Phil's eye and he touched my soul.

"Phil, I- I dunno..." I replied, I was still, I didn't know what I was saying, all I knew was that, that I hurt him now, real bad...
