"WELCOME BACK!"

I gasp and nearly drop Tae's carrier. My eyes glisten with tears as I take in the sight before me.

Jung Hoseok.. one of my best friends since my high school years. We've never lost connection and we are each other's private diaries. I told him I was coming back but he had said he wouldn't be able to meet me until a few days later! This darn idiot..

Min Yoongi. Another friend of mine that I had met through Seokjin. Him and I spent a lot of time together because of our love for music. We even created an album together but we kept it between only our friends and family. He did rap and producing while I did vocals. I haven't talked to him in a month because he had been in Australia and didn't have access to a phone.

Park Jimin. Yet another best friend of mine just like Hoseok. Jimin, Hobi, and I were inseparable during high school. We still have a group chat together. And like Hoseok, Jimin had told me he was currently in Busan spending time with family and would try to find time and meet up with me.

The last face I met had me shocked and surprised.

Jeon Jungkook. Jimin's stepbrother. They aren't very alike but they are close as they should be as step siblings. Except I had a different experience with Jungkook. He is my ex boyfriend. I admit, I was in love with him.. until he broke my heart.

You can say that Kook was that guy everyone wanted in high school. He was sweet, romantic, and charming. We had gotten together with the help of Jimin during our Sophomore year of high school. I remember clearly that he wanted badly to sleep with me. Saying he loved me so much and wanted to prove it. He didn't have to sleep with me to prove that he loved me. I believed him but I wanted to wait until marriage. I guess that was too long for him.. and me going off to the states added onto that.

Funny story, I was video chatting Jimin. I had asked him to surprise Jungkook by bringing me into his room. He did as I asked but when he swung open Jungkook's door, what I saw broke me. Jungkook laid in bed naked with another girl whom was also bare. We agreed to try a long distance relationship but I guess I wasn't giving Jungkook the attention he needed. I will say that I feel guilty that I refused Jungkook and that I affected Jimin's relationship with him. Jimin was furious at Jungkook for doing that to me and couldn't stand to live under the same roof as him. That's when Jimin moved out. I do know that Jimin had made up with Jungkook a few months later and they are close again but that incident never left their minds.

Jungkook and I had a serious chat after that incident and I apologized to him for not being enough. Jungkook didn't have any excuse and told me the truth, that he needed some attention and that he didn't blame me too much knowing that I was busy. He begged me to forgive him.. and being the naive and guilty girl I was, I did. But I still broke up with him even though I still loved him.. We agreed to be on good terms but we haven't talked since.

A sob rips through my throat as I place Tae down. I cover my mouth and cry. I stumble towards the group of people and they all hug me, excluding Jungkook.

"Hey Minseo Soup happy to see us?" Jimin teases using the stupid name he gave me years ago. I cry and smack his chest as I wipe my tears.

"You jerks tricked me! I thought you were all too busy to see me.." I hiccup and they chuckle at me.

"We could never be too busy to see you. Sure we lied to you, but you would drop whatever you had on your hands just to see us as well." Hoseok beamed and patted my head.

"Hi.. Minseo.. Welcome back home." I look up to see Jungkook shuffling towards me. My breath catches in my throat. Am I still attracted? Of course physically yes but not emotionally.. not anymore I think. But we agreed to be friends.. friends only. I smile politely and put out my hand.

"Nice to see you again Jungkook." He looks up at me surprised and hesitants to shake my hand. Eventually his big hand fits around mind, ending in a firm handshake.

I take my hand back and take a breath, looking around the apartment.

"Wah.. this is perfect.. Oh you guys even bought a cat tree! Oh my this is big.." I run over to the structure.

"Of course! Our nephew deserves the best." Jin says proudly. I look at him weirdly, as does Hoseok and Yoongi. I chuckle when I hear a loud cry from the doorway.

"Oh okay okay calm down you fussypot. No one forgot about you~" I sprint over to my cat who wants in on the excitement. I open his carrier and he bolts to the cat tree and jumps all over it. Everyone laughs. Jimin reaches out and touches Tae's head.

"Wow Minseo. I know you said your cat had a human personality but boy does he really give off that vibe." Jimin chuckles as Tae leans into Jimin's small hand. I nod as I walk up next to them again.

"Yeah... he really is unique. That's why I call him my little alien." I giggle and reach my arms out to Tae. He happily jumps into my arms and snuggles under my chin.

"We are glad he makes you so happy.. I haven't seen you smile like this in a while. Even over calls." Yoongi speaks up and my smile fades. Everyone looks at me sadly. I clear my throat and place Tae back in his cat tree.

"I'm going to start unpacking.." I change the subject as I walk away, leaving the boys watching me with concern. Some glance at Jungkook who just looks down. They all know what happened. But it wasn't just Jungkook's fault. It was also my father's.

Maybe I can see him soon and see if he is willing to make up for our last fight?
