Through The Dark // Cameron Dallas

New school

I drive into the schools parking lot and park my gray Honda Civic. I grab my backpack and lock my car.

I head towards the office and im fretted by this very lovely lady. She looks in her 30's.

"Hi I'm Jozannah Longoria, umm I here to pick up my schedule" I say sweetly

"Jozannah yes," she hands me the schedule "have a lovely day" she smiles and walks towards the back of the office.

I walk out the office and I walk towards the hall. There's students everywhere catching up on what they did in the summer. I see the cheerleaders not even speaking to one another as if they saw each other all summer.

I see the jocks screaming and saying random stuff. The nerds are all reading the same book in a circle.
Oh boy.

I decide to start to look for my first period. I have a computer class with Mrs.Zuritha. The bell rings and everyone goes to there classes.

After like ten minutes of walking I find my class and walk in. Everybody is sitting in there desks and I just grab a random seat in the back. Everybody stares at me and I just awkwardly sit there listening to the teacher.

She gives out a syllabus and explains what we will be doing in the future.

Everybody just ignores her and start to have conversations amongst themselves. I plug in my headphones and put on pandora. A song called Wildlife comes on. It's pretty catchy. I check the artist and it says that Jack & Jack sing it. Weird. As I'm jamming out to this random song I feel a tap on my shoulder. I pause the music and turn around.

I see a cute kid behind me. He looks like a freshman and he smiles up at me.

"Hi I'm Hayes" he says

"Uh, I'm Jozannah" I say awkwardly

"Your new right?" He asks

"Yeah. How did you know?" I ask confused.

"I can tell, you walked in and usually people just sit with people they know but you just sat there all alone" he shrugs and I give him a weak smile.

"Yeah I just moved in the summer. I came from Texas"

"Cool. These are my friends Matthew Espinosa and Jack Johnson"

Matt and Jack have blondish hair. Matt is tall and has a nice smile. And Jack looks smaller but also has a cute smile.

"What's up? I'm Jack Johnson. I'm junior" he says sweetly

I smile.

"I'm Matthew but you can call me Matt. I'm also a junior. And you are?" He says winking

I giggle and say "I'm Jozannah, I'm new here and I'm a junior."

"Nice, why'd you move?" Matt asks

"I don't know my parents wanted to" i shrug and give him a weak smile.

"Sucks. So you do anything interesting?" Matt asks

"Not really, I play varsity basketball?" I say in more of a question then answer.

"Coool you should play with us sometimes and join the schools team" he says. I nod and he turns around starting a conversation with Jack.

Hayes turns around. "Oh I forgot to introduce you to her" he points to a thin, pretty girl. By the look at her body I can tell she's athletic.

She's wearing black skinny jeans, a gray black nike pullover and some black and white roshes. Her hair is brown and straight. She has no makeup and she has a nice smile. She turns and looks at me smiling.

"Jozannah this is my girlfriend Abby" Hayes says introducing us.

"Hi I'm Abby, freshman"

"Hi I'm Jozannah, junior." I say smiling

"Your new?" She asks

"Yeah" I say smiling

We start a conversation and she seems really nice, shes also funny. She tells me about how she met Hayes and the other guys and how there all in this group called MAGCON. She explains how she always gets jealous cause girls are always over her brother Shawn and her boyfriends Hayes.

"So you do any sports?" She asks

"Yeah I do varsity basketball" I say smiling "and you?"

"I do JV cross country, track and volleyball"

Damn. I can barely run to the fridge.

"I'm thinking of doing volleyball. I did it last year. I was in varsity" i say smiling.

"You should" she smiles and continues to listen to music.

Then the bell rings.
