After three more months of meaningless searching Namjoon seemed to have completely forgotten about Jungkook, even going as far as to publicly say the dangerous hybrid he's been looking for day and night was probably already dead.

Of course, you and Jungkook were delighted to hear him say that because it meant Jungkook would finally be able to experience more in life than your 40cm³ apartment.

He would still have to kind of hide his true identity, but at least he'd see the many beauties of this world, maybe even fly freely like he always wanted to.

After officially acknowledging you are each other's mate and him marking you, you and Jungkook had gotten a lot closer than before.

You're not as distant and you now enjoy his touch, wherever it may be. You wake up tangled up in each other every single day, snuggling and kissing until you both get too hungry to avoid getting up and making breakfast. You cuddle while watching movies on the couch, him finally being able to touch you and hold you close like he always wanted.

Ever since his heat ended he hasn't been too eager to have sex, choosing to appreciate you and your sweet scent in a more innocent way, kissing every inch of your body and tightly holding your hand while he helps you choose what to buy in the supermarket.

You are always there to tell him to keep his hood up and hide his wings as much as possible, constantly worrying about his safety, and he is always there to feel flustered about your interest in him and the way you make him feel. Needless to say, bold dominant Jungkook is just a once-in-a-heat Jungkook.

Seeing him get all shy and needy for affection ignites the dominant side of you, instead.

You not only want to always protect him and be there for him, satisfying his need for holding you tight and breathing into your neck, but you also want to make his life outside the lab the best experience he's ever had.

Although you two act like a couple already, Jungkook is not sure what you two are.

He knows he has marked you and that you are his forever, but he can also see the curious looks of other males -especially humans since they cannot notice your mating mark that easily- whenever you are outside together.

The fact that you don't bother with their intentions and that you pay them no mind used to make him think you simply don't care, but the dragon inside of him yearns to catch your mouth in front of all these guys, successfully showing them that you are only his. The human part of him knows doing something so reckless in front of everyone would only make you act weird and start questioning him so he simply refrains from doing what his animal counterpart asks him to.

The need to be sure you are only his, however, kept growing, along with the slight jealousy whenever you mentioned the silly jokes your colleague at work, Kwon Hyuk had told you.

You always talked about him with a stupid smile on your face and Jungkook couldn't take it, even though he knew feeling like this was even more stupid.

But one day, while you were talking to him about another funny thing Hyuk did, he couldn't help but spit out: "Do you like him?".

To say you were confused was an understatement.

"What do you mean, do I like him? Of course I do! He is my colleague and he has a great personality." you answered truthfully while Jungkook nervously bit on his lower lip.

"No, I mean.. Do you... like like him? Is he that much funnier than me? Does he make you laugh more?" he questioned with a furrow of his dark brows.
