• Chapter 10 •

It has now been a month since you left Jungkook to live with Seokjin.

You and Jin had gotten engaged a week after moving in his big house. You couldn't stop thinking of Jungkook as the disgusting diamond ring was placed on your finger.

Thankfully Jin's mansion had a couple of different bedrooms, so you at least didn't have to worry about sleeping in the same bed with the bastard.

Jin was almost always out, either working or attending meetings with Namjoon to increase the profits of the company. He had also prohibited you from working, with the excuse that now that you were going to be married to a man as rich as him you would never need to earn money again.

Meanwhile, Jungkook was suffering.

He had come back from his workout at the gym, his hands full of plastic bags with all your favourite snacks in them. He wanted to surprise you and maybe even take you out to dinner that night.

He placed the bags on the ground as he started calling out for you. When you didn't answer he assumed you were still asleep, so he took a short shower and then went to the bedroom to finally wake you up properly.

The only thing waiting for him there was your heartbreaking note, some of the letters slightly smudged from what he assumed were your tears.

He couldn't believe a single world, his own wails of pain echoing through the thin apartment walls.

His mate was gone and he could do nothing to get her back.

He was well aware that the minute he stepped foot in Seokjin's mansion his bodyguards would catch him and send him to the laboratory where he would get killed an hour later. You would end up in jail, scared and alone, your future completely destroyed because of him.

Jungkook wanted to get you back so bad, but he didn't have a plan except for praying to whatever God existed to be with you again.

More months had passed and July came, the day of your wedding with Seokjin fast approaching. All the preparations were done and Jin couldn't be more excited. His plan was finally coming to fruition, after all.

You, on the other hand, couldn't be more depressed.

You aimlessly roamed the infinite floors of the huge mansion, walking through the big garden with hundreds of different flowers. Everything around you was pretty and colourful, but your heart was broken and your mating mark ached to be with the man you loved.

Love.

You wished you had told Jungkook you loved him before you left. But you were such a coward to confess it, you didn't even write it in your goodbye letter.

Stupid. You felt utterly stupid. You whole life was ruined and your only happiness came from the thought that Jungkook was alive and free, able to do whatever his heart desired. You just wished you would've been experiencing life with him instead of being kept in a beautiful prison like this one.

Seokjin didn't really spend any time with you apart from the times he would ask you questions about the wedding. You supposed this was a good thing, considering you felt like puking your guts out every time you saw his smug face.

Another positive thing was that you had quickly become friends with the maids and the guards of the mansion. The staff here were way more kindhearted than Seokjin, eager to help you with whatever you needed. Maybe they felt bad about Jin keeping you hostage here against your will.

Two days before the wedding, your heart was hurting more than ever. You just needed to see Jungkook and tell him a proper goodbye.

You needed to tell him that you love him.

Determined to see him again, you secretly snuck out of the mansion with the help of two kind maids, took one of Seokjin's cars and drove to your old apartment. You could only hope Jungkook still lived there.

Your fingers tapped on the radio to turn the music up, excitement running through your veins.

It may be your last goodbye, but you would at least get to see him one more time.
