The Hummer ride was quiet except for the car's strong, purring engine. Hazel looked out window, chuckling as she looked out the window at the passing city. She looked over at Amel, watching as her eyes watched the road. Her brown eyes zigzagged across the road and cars quickly. Hazel chuckled, looking back at the window and watched as the city passed by.

Bzzzzzt.

Amel raised an eyebrow, picking up the DJ's phone and scanning the notification before smoothly going around a truck. "A text from Mimi." She said. The golden eyed woman took her phone, a text from Mariah. One that read,

M: You okay?

H: Yeah, I'm fine. Just thinking about some stuff.

M: You sure?

H: Yeah, I'm fine Mariah. How's Tommy?

M: Hilariously angry. Thanks for asking.

H: No prob. See you soon?

M: I'll be looking forward to it.

"You still hit hard like I remember," The DJ remarked, licking her busted bottom lip. Amel rolled her eyes not bothering to respond.

"Look, I—"

"Don't," Amel said," I don't think we should be having the rest of this conversation. In the car." Hazel shrugged, turning on the radio and switching to a playlist called, Speechless and skipped to the second song.

Oh ooh ooh, yeah

I've been doing my own thing

Amel nodded her head and tapped her fingers to the beat, a smile slowly forming on her face. Hazel sung," Love has always had a way of having back timing." Amel shook her head, unsurprised by the DJ wonderful voice," Well played Busta." Hazel chuckled," Yeah. I just felt it was the right time." The singer laughed.

Hazel took off her coat, placing it on the arm of the couch. Looking around," This place hasn't changed a bit." Everything was still like it was a year ago. A soft vanilla scent, white couch, dark wood coffee table, giant tv and speaker. A spacious kitchen, bigger than the one at Hazel's house. She took a deep breath, letting the old memories flood back in.

Amel came back from the kitchen, wearing her pajamas. A red shirt and silver shorts, which used to be Hazel's. In her hands were two mugs, one was yellow and other was white. Amel held the yellow one out to the tall woman, Hazel rubbed the back of her head," I—I can't. I don't want t—to comfortable, y'know?"

"You know I don't take no for an answer." She replied with a smirk," Besides, I know you won't be staying long." Hazel laughed softly, taking the mug," Thanks NC."

"No problem Busta." Amel replied, landing a playful punch to her shoulder. Hazel walked over to the couch, taking a sip of her hot chocolate as her phone rung. Amel's hot coco was always bomb, The DJ glanced over at the brunette as the sound of her ringtone, the familiar layered vocals and a simple, chill beat.

Alright,

(It's gonna be)

Alright

(It's gonna be)

Amel laughed," Jeez, for a business woman you sure are forgetful." Hazel looked at her with a small smirk," That's because the smarter part of my brain left me." The brunette nodded her head," Well played." The DJ didn't need to look at the caller ID to know who it was. Ben from BET Studios, he was helping her land her show and a soon premiere for the first episode of Goldie Effect. She put him on speaker and placed her phone on the kitchen counter facing down. Amel stood across from her on the other side of the counter, they just stared into each other's eyes. Hazel answered with a," Hey Ben."

"Hey Goldie."

"Wait, am I on speaker?"

"Yeah," Amel quickly answered with a laugh as Hazel shot her a look.

"Hi Amel."

The brunette laughed again as the DJ shook her head in a shameful manner. "So, they said yes to the show but they need some footage for the trailer." Ben explained," And they're also gonna need a name for the next episode."

"Okay, cool." Hazel replied, looking straight at her ex, she asked," What's the name of your next album?"

"Ice Cream Everyday."

Hazel silently laughed hard even as her ex gave her a serious look. The DJ cleared her throat," You heard that B? The first episode is gonna be called Goldie Effect: Ice Cream Everyday."

"Not gonna lie NC, that is one childish title."

"Told you," Hazel remarked with a smirk. Her ex rolled her eyes, taking a sip of chocolate from her mug.

"Alright," Ben added," About filming,"

Hazel rubbed a hand on her chin, use Jordan's comment about IBTAY shooting to number one from the video and ask Mariah about it for filming."

"Alright cool. When you want us to start filming for the first episode?"

Amel rolled her eyes, leaving the kitchen. She didn't want to be reminded of Hazel's hazardous answer that lead to a small turn of events in the VIP section of the club. The golden eyed woman rubbed her chin Saturday at three, Bliss Studios."

"Okay, got it. See you soon."

"Thanks again Benny."

With those last words, he hung up. Hazel drunk the rest of her hot coco and placed it down the counter. Once again, Amel walked over. A stern expression of irritation and disapproval on her face. She opened her her mouth to speak but Hazel beat her to the words," Amel, I know you're finding it hard to trust me right now but all I'm asking you to do is relax until Saturday." She was about to speak when she noticed the DJ's hand on her right ass cheek. The singer sighed, moving her hand," You should probably get going." Hazel chuckled nervously," Right." The taller woman grabbed her jacket and headed for the door. Her hand touched the metal knob and she sighed," Amel, if you have something to say...then say it. I can tell you're holding something back." The brunette chuckled," You always knew how to read me," She raked a hand through her brown curls," A little too well I'd say. But, I know this will probably sound crazy...I'm not saying this just so you'll help me out...I still love you."

"I know, I do too."

"Good to know."

Hazel gave her a smile before smoothly walking out the door.
