Chapter 27

(Sorry that the update is so late in the afternoon got busy)

~(Later In The Afternoon)~

I was lying down on my bed listening to music when I felt my phone buzz.

Can I come over for a study session? I know it's Saturday and all so if not it's ok

It's fine I don't have anything better to do.

I gave him the address but didn't bother to change into anything special. I put on some sweatpants and Tj's hoodie that he gave me for my birthday. After about twenty minutes there was a knock on the door.

"Hey," I said with a smile. He had on jeans and a collared shirt.

"Hey," He said, "Are your foster parents here?" He asked.

"Yeah, why?"

"I want to apologize," He said looking down a little. I smiled and led him upstairs and knocked on Eric and Ryan's door.

"Come in," They both said in unison.

"Hi, Cyrus, who is your friend?" Ryan asked.

"This is um... Reed" I say squinting my eyes not knowing what to expect to happen next.

"As in the person you got into a fight with Reed!?" Eric exclaimed, sounding slightly mad.

"Cy if this is a hostage situation, blink twice," Ryan said with a whisper.

"Can you guys just hear him out please?" I said looking over at him. He had an embarrassed and uncomfortable look on his face. "Go ahead," I say.

"I truly am sorry for what I did to Cyrus on his second day of school. I was running with the wrong crowd and wanted to be cool so bad. I'm not gonna say I didn't want to hurt him but now I realize there was no point in doing it. Cyrus forgave me but if you guys still can't I understand and I will leave" He said with a sympathetic look throughout his whole apology.

They both smiled looking at Reed.

"We forgive you," Eric said with a smile.

"I'm glad you decided to change yourself," Ryan said smiling. Reed and I both left the room going to mine and studied for about two hours.

"Thanks for helping me," Reed said giving me a hug

"No problem," I said, hugging him back.

"Hey, can I sleepover?..." He asked softly.

"I can ask, why?" I questioned. He looked down at his feet biting his bottom lip.

"The past month my parents have been nonstop arguing and I can't take it anymore! The yelling and fighting and doors slamming it's too fucking much!" He cries out tears running down his cheek. I had nothing to say, all I could do was wrap my arms around him and hug him tight "It's like I'm not their son anymore" He says sobbing. "My dad is trying his best to find a job but he just can't because of his record, nobody can see that he's changed"

"Maybe Ryan can help he's always complaining about being understaffed with people that clean," I say looking at him. A smile grew on his face and he hugged me again lifting me up in the air. "Come on we can ask now," I say grabbing his hand and going down to the living room.

"Reed, what happened?" Ryan asked, getting up.

"M-my parents are going through a hard time with money right now. I-I was wondering if it was possible that you gave my dad and me a job. I'll work hard every day after school and I promised he's changed despite his record, he's clean and sober and has been for a year!" He said, his voice breaking as he cried. Ryan wrapped his arms around him giving him a tight hug.

"Of course you guys can," He said, making me smile a tad bit. "Tomorrow you guys can start if you would like"

"Can he sleepover? He doesn't want to go home" I add and Ryan nodded his head yes. Reed pulled out his phone and called who I assumed was his dad.

"Hello, Dad I got you a job. Tomorrow just bring your resume and stuff. No, because I can hear mom still yelling at you in the back... My friend's house I'm safe. Alright bye," He hung up the phone and smiled. "I just need to give him the time," He said with a smile across his face. "Thank you for everything"

~(Later In The Night)~

My phone buzzed again for the twentieth time and I continued to ignore it. I was more focused on being there for Reed.

"They've been texting you all day why don't you just answer," Reed said.

"I can only stand so much time with them," I joked. Reed and I were just sitting on my bed with the lights on. "So what made you lose all your friends?" I asked hesitantly.

"You really don't know?" He said. "I told them I was gay... They made fun of me and bullied me on Instagram and stuff" He said sighing.

"You don't deserve that," I said. "You're an amazing guy," I added. I wouldn't have even guessed I don't have Instagram or stuff like that and the group didn't talk about it.

"You have to tell me something now," He said. I smiled thinking of what to say.

"I'm gay too, I like Tj," I say without hesitating. I felt comfortable with Reed knowing.

"I can tell," He said chuckling. "You get this look whenever he's next to you"

"We never talk about you, by the way, they're not like that," I said trying to avoid the conversation.

"Aww, you're too embarrassed to talk about your feelings" Reed teased.

"Yeah, Yeah," I said, my cheeks heating up.

"Night Swings," He said giggling.

"Night gay boy" I joked.

"Cyrus and Tj sitting in a tree F U C K I N G" Reed sang.

"I'll kick you out of my bed"

"You're a twig"

"I believe the last time you called me that I kicked your ass" I chuckled.

"Eh, you kinda hit me in my dick," He said ruffling up my hair and we both laughed. "Hey, can you tell them we're friends tomorrow?" Reed asked. "Yeah, sure if you really want me to," I say. "Well do it together" I added

"Good night" I waited until Reed was asleep and pulled out my journal.

So Reed and I are friends. It feels weird because we've gotten so close in such little time. Maybe it's because we're both gay. Andis sleepover was pretty fun which is good. I think her and Andi have a thing they were all cuddled up during the movie. I'll ask her tomorrow and tell her about my crush on Tj.

~(In The Afternoon)~

"So you can get started with the dishes in the back. I'm sure Bryan will be happy to show him his method" Ryan said, leading Reed's dad to the kitchen. Reed had a bright smile on his face. Ryan said Reed would have to bring his math grade up to work cause that was the policy for workers still in school.

"My dad hasn't smiled like that in a while. Thank you for everything!" Reed exclaimed. He picked me up and kissed me on the cheek. My eyes widened and he blushed a tab bit.

"Sorry I just got overly excited," He said with a smile and we both laughed.
