I Hate You (A Tyrus Story)

Chapter 23

After a week of begging Andi finally nagged me enough to plan this big group sleepover with me, her, Tj, Buffy, Jonah and Amber.

"What did you get for question 12?" Tj whispered to me.

"16" He mumbled after letting out a small breath and erased what he wrote.

"What'd you get?" I asked.

"6.5," He said aggravated under his breath.

"How-" He shot me a glance and I quickly stopped talking trying not to laugh at the same time. I went back to doing my work. After the bell rang Tj, Jonah and I went to lunch. Tj always offered me half of whatever type of sandwich he had because I didn't like school lunch and no matter how many times I said no he would always push me to take at least two bites.

"You might as well pack his lunch" Andi joked as she sat down with her tray of food. I rolled my eyes taking a bite of the sandwich.

"Baloney?" I asked after swallowing.

"Yeah, does it taste bad?" He said with a small bit of concern in her voice.

"No, no, it's good, just different, you usually make a turkey sandwich" I responded smiling. I thought me liking Tj would be a small thing but I always found myself noticing small things about him like what meat he used for his sandwich or if he got a new hoodie. I bet I could notice if one strand of his hair got longer. It sucked liking him because I was always thinking about him and what he thought of me. I also liked feeling like this for Tj because every word he said felt special.

"Isn't Eric a cook, why don't you ask him to make you lunch?" Jonah asked.

"Cause, I would feel bad, I don't know Jonah" I complained.

"Hey cuties' ' Amber said with a smile on her face filling in the small space between me and Tj.

"I need to tell her," I said to myself. I haven't told her I liked him yet because I still wasn't ready to say the sentence "I like him". I know she would accept me and still love me. I'm just not ready to let anyone know.

"So everyone excited for tomorrow?!" Andi said with a grin.

"Andi this is your fifth time saying that today," Buffy said chuckling.

"Eighth" Jonah corrected before taking a bite of pizza. Andi rolled her eyes playfully punching his shoulder.

"I'm excited, I've never actually been to a sleepover or had one," Amber said with a sweet smile.

"I'm glad to be your first," Andi said, making me chuckle as my brain instantly turned her words into a dirty joke. Andi scrunched up her face and stuck her tongue at me. Tj reached around amber and flicked the side of my head.

"Bad Cyrus, go pray in the closet," He said in a weird voice making me laugh a small bit.

"Anyways, so you guys should be at my house around four because I think I speak for everyone when I say, I want to try out that new arcade especially the laser tag," She said with a grin.

"That sounds awesome" Tj responded, stretching his hand past Amber giving me a container that had sliced oranges in them.

"If I pay you will you cut my oranges too," Buffy said, making me laugh.

~(After School)~

TJ'S POV

"Hey, Tj!" Amber said as I finished putting stuff I didn't need in my locker. She did a short jog over to me and smiled. "Do you mind helping me rearrange my room? I would ask Cyrus but he has noodle arms" We both let out a snicker at the joke.

"Yeah sure, I don't have any plans" I responded. I still wasn't sure if she had feelings for Cyrus or the other way around. Every time I thought about her and Cyrus it made me jealous. I didn't not like Amber, I was just jealous at the thought of them together. Amber and I got into her dad's car and started our way to her house. The car ride was quiet, we didn't say a word there were just small moments when her dad tried to break the silence by asking a basic question about school or something.

Before I knew it we were inside the house.

"Want anything?" Amber asked.

"No thanks," I replied. We went to her room and Amber closed the door behind her. "So where do you-"

"So how long have you liked Cyrus?" She interrupted me, my eyes widened and I quickly turned around.

"Huh?" Was all I could let out but I could hear how nervous and tense I was with that one sound and I'm sure Amber could too.

"It's obvious Tj, you basically make him lunch, walk him to class, sleepover his house... a lot and I can see it when you look at him. I can see that little sparkle in your eye when you make him smile" She said in a soft voice leaving me speechless. I sat on her bed letting out a deep sigh.

"Guess I can't escape it. I like him a lot, he's just amazing in this way I've never seen anyone as, you know? It's ok that you like him he wouldn't date a guy anyway" I said with a groan.

"Tj, I don't like him. He's like a brother to me" I smiled a small bit looking at her.

"I don't know what to do Amber," I said and in response, she held my hand.

"Well, it's gonna hurt liking him but never telling him. You two couldn't happen," She said with a smile. "Tell me everything that has happened between you two since you first met" I explained to her everything from the beginning and she made confused faces a point.

~(A Couples Of Minutes Later)~

"So let me get this straight. He hated you, hated you a little less, could just about stand you, you two became friends and now your close friends" Amber said trying to make sense of the situation.

"Yeah, well he's never called me a friend before," I said quietly. I just now realized he's never said it, he's called Andi and them friends before but not me...

"Well,  Cyrus is weird like that" She responds with a light smile. "Is that it?" She asked.

"Mhm," I lied. There was a short silence as Amber got up and just went through her makeup. I bit my lip and tapped my foot. "We also kinda kissed but it wasn't on purpose!" Amber quickly turned around with a shocked expression.
