I run through the brick wall and meet my Grandma on the other side.

"I said it wouldn't be that bad, didn't I?" She said, as she took my shoulders and fixed my dark, bushy hair. "Now, Jessica. Promise me you'll behave."

"I solemnly swear." I nodded. "And i'll write to you as soon as I get there."

"Good girl." Grandma said, before pulling me into her bosom, clutching me tightly. "I'll miss you ever so much."

"I'll miss you too." I say, hugging her back.

This heart-tugging moment gets cut short as I hear the whistle. It was time to go.

"Have a safe journey, dear." Grandma says, kissing me on the cheek. "I love you very much. Now go, my sweet."

I nod and head off, taking my things off the trolley and onto the train. I quickly find an empty compartment and wave from the window. I wave until the train begins to move and I can no longer see my Grandma. I stare out of the window a bit more before sighing and getting out my copy of One Thousand Magical Herbs and Fungi out.

Completely swallowed by the textbook, I fail to hear a knock on the door. The person on the other side proceeds to slide it open.

"Hello. Mind if I sit here?"

I look up, my eyes finally taking a rest from the text. It's a girl, my age. She has dirty blonde hair just below at her shoulders, with a pointy face. She is smiling politely.

"I knocked but I don't think you heard." She says. "I'm Evelyn Brooks by the way."

"Sorry! Come sit." I apologise. "I was too engulfed in my book. I'm Jessica Montgomery."

Evelyn smiles and obediently sits down.

"What book is it? I read books too, classics here and there."

I laugh and show her my book.

"You're reading a textbook? You must be really excited for classes then." She says, chuckling.

"Of course I am. That's the whole point of Hogwarts."

"True, but don't you want to make friends?  Or watch Quidditch? Aren't you excited about finding out your house?"

"Those aren't really my priorities." I said in an almost shy tone. "And I have a feeling I know which house i'll be sorted into."

"Really? Which one?"

"Gryffindor, as all my relatives are from that house. But maybe i'll get sorted into Ravenclaw. It's up to the Sorting Hat, I guess." I state. "What about you?"

"My Dad was sorted into Hufflepuff, but I could get placed anywhere. I don't really mind."

We continue to talk for the rest of the train journey, soon sharing sweets from the trolley. After a while, we change into our robes.

"Next year, Harry Potter will attend! Nobody's heard from him ever since his parents were killed." Evelyn says. "I wonder what's happened to him."

"Me too. I expect he's okay. Professor McGonagall wouldn't let anything happen to him." I say before biting into a chocolate frog.

"You know McGonagall?" Evelyn says in wonder.

"She's friends with my Grandma."

The train suddenly stops. I can hear people chatter in excitement.

"I think we've arrived!" I say as I get up. "Let's go get our things!"

Soon, everybody is off the Hogwarts Express. Me and Evelyn gasp at the sight of the castle, which can be seem from a distance. My journey had begun.
