'It feels great to have already made friends, especially ones I share my dorm with. It's Ethereal.'
These were my thoughts from when I first started Hogwarts. I still feel the same way, as a matter of fact. It's been 3 years since that day and we're now entering our fourth year. A lot has happened. Let me fill you in on the gaps.
On our first day, we had already made an enemy. Ivy Davenport, a Slytherin girl. She was tormenting Lindsey in Herbology, until the rest of us stopped her. She and her pals, Millie Neil and Tracey West, are our rival group.
Even though Ivy and her friends were the real villains, it was me and my friends that were forever getting into trouble. At first, it wasn't on purpose. We were just being the mischievous little first years that we were. It used to be small things like having the exact same pieces of homework or eating sweets during lessons. But as we grew older, we got in trouble for other things too, like turning Ivy's quill into a muggle pen (as a Pureblood, she was outraged), or running around in the corridors whilst playing music at night.
The funny thing was that we hardly got in trouble when we were by ourselves, but when it was all of us together, it was just a natural instinct. Despite being so different, our personalities bounced off of each other. Harley was the Dare Devil, Evelyn was the Mother, Lindsey was the Kind one, Amanda was the Diva and I was the Brains. One couldn't work without the other.
Harry Potter arrived a year after us - turns out he was living with his Muggle relatives. We sometimes talk to him and his friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. In fact, Lindsey was with Hermione when they both got petrified. That was a scary time.
Harley tried out for a Chaser position on the Gryffindor Quidditch Team and she got in. She was beaming when she found out. I also got a job as co-commentator along with Lee Jordan, a Gryffindor friends with Fred and George Weasley. Speaking of which...
The Weasley Twins were a nuisance. They had pranked me multiple times in the past. Although friendly, they were quite the troublemakers. I learnt not to give a reaction to them, since that was what they wanted. After my second year, however, I accepted them as friends.
Lindsey ended up excelling at Care of Magical Creatures. She and Hagrid became very close due to their shared love for animals. We often visit Hagrid at his hut.
Harley and Amanda don't always get along. They fight like old ladies. Evelyn is always trying to create peace between them, and their little arguments end in apologies. Sometimes I need to get away from it all through a good book. Having four best friends gets a bit overwhelming.
My family is doing well, other than the fact that they still don't want me knowing who my father is. I'm also doing well at school. Snape even praised me on my Potions skills once.
Now i'm back and better than ever. We're about to start our fourth year. I can't wait.
A/N: So now that you're familiar with the setting, it's time for Chapter 1: Remembrance!
