**Sybil Carter**

Walker's P.O.V

Sybil Carter was gorgeous.

Long blonde hair cascaded down her shoulders, highlighted by the glow of the dying sunlight.

Her body was on full display, in a white bikini that stood out against her smooth tan skin.

I had to keep my jaw closed as she walked in front of me with Kaden and Autumn.

There was no denying that she was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen in my twenty-four years of life.

Despite my innate draw to her, I had my doubts about mating with her for many reasons.

She was younger than me by six years, and she was still going through a rebellious phase that I had long surpassed.

I had worked hard for my position, and I wasn't going to let an eighteen year old wreck that for me.

It was obvious she didn't take anything very seriously, not even her own well-being.

I mean, the first time I ever laid eyes on her, she was running from rogues for fun.

She was wild, crazy, and carefree- characteristics I had never been attracted to.

I liked women who were determined, respectable, and mature.

Sybil was none of those things; but, I had grown fond of her quickly.

I had an overwhelming need to protect her, and just be near her.

She had no clue that I heard about Big Lagoon from her father hours before I went to her room.

I was the one to drop hints that Sybil would need protection from her own stupidity.

I hated myself for that, but I knew my wolf couldn't go three days without her.

"Kaden, pull your trunks up, you're flashing everyone!" Autumn chuckles, hitting the Beta's arm.

Sybil laughs along with Autumn, her side profile accentuating her sharp jaw line.

"You two love looking at my ass, don't lie." Kaden smirks at the girls, making them roll their eyes.

Their relationship made me uncomfortable.

Back home in Black Forest, I didn't really have any close friends.

I had known my Beta since birth, of course, but even then we never hung out unless it was pack business.

"I don't think Walker wants to stare at your pale butt, Kaden." Sybil looks back over her shoulder at me, a small smirk on her lips.

My heart quickens in my chest at her small gesture, but I keep my face set in an uninterested scowl.
