Song: I Feel Like I'm Drowning, Two Feet

All four of us sat around a large fire that flickered into the night sky.

The beach house was within view, but the waves were so close I could feel doodlers if water every time the waves crashed.

I was now dry, with jeans shorts and a large crew neck covering my body.

My hair dried in waves, flowing down my back and offering me warmth along my neck.

I felt no weight on my shoulders, thanks to Big Lagoon.

I couldn't bring myself to worry about Walker, my father, or the impending battle with my uncle in only a few weeks.

I didn't even wonder about what would happen to Walker and me after the battle was over.

I was living completely in the moment, which is what I usually did before Walker showed up.

Kaden and Autumn sat on the opposite side of the fire, laughing as Kaden tells a very animated story from our childhood.

Walker was to my right, distanced by a few feet, but his eyes kept trailing over to me.

I liked seeing Walker like this, completely calm and carefree.

He leaned back against a large log with one elbow, his long legs stretching out towards the fire.

I sat amazed as Walker actually chuckled at Kaden's story, his blue eyes glancing over to me.

"I can't believe you two put laxatives in Alpha Carters drink before his meeting with the Alpha King." Autumn laughs, bending over at her waist.

She had heard this story before, but every time Kaden retold it- she laughed a little harder.

"It was Sybil's idea!" Kaden chuckles, pointing an accusatory finger at me.

I roll my eyes, a smile toying on my lips.

"Kaden is the worst partner in crime, he crumbles so quickly." I shake my head at my Beta.

"But, I never sell you out." He smirks.

I roll my eye with a nod. It was true that Kaden had my back through anything, and I knew he would be an amazing Beta.

"What about you Walker, any crazy stunts when you were a kid?" Autumn asks, trying to include the large man in our banter.

Walker sighs, "no, I didn't really have much time for things like that."

I clenched my jaw, waiting for him to begin making fun of us.

"I wished I did, though. You guys have some good stories." He smiles softly, blue eyes meeting mine.

My jaw slackens at his words, not expecting that from him at all.

"There's still time to make stories, you know. Hang around Sybil some more, and you'll have enough to write a book." Kaden snorts, making me glare over the fire at him with a blush.
