It was a dark and stormy night.

No, this book does not open on a villainous undertaking, it just happened to be the weather.
Anyways...

It was a dark and stormy night. Rounds of rain were clashing on the sturdy windows of the appartment while the rolling thunder seemed to be looming just over the rooftop. The lights in the house were being threatened and pulsed by the ranging winds, and the lightning off in the distance raged through the hills of suburban Star City. Honestly though, besides the slightly dramatic storm, nothing was out of the ordinary.

Ava Sharpe took upon her favorite spot at the window seat, reading her book with the light of the lamp hanging over her head. The turning pages were barely audible throughout the room, but every time she pulled one piece of the book over to the next, her mind was at ease from the nostalgic sound.

CRACK

A bolt of lightning coursed through the night sky, followed by the loud noise. The director of the Time Bureau jumped from the sudden sound, but soon after, heard a soft laugh coming from the bathroom door. Ava looked up to see Sara wrapped in a towel and slick damp hair, leaning her head against the door frame. Her eyes were fixed solely on the taller blonde, and she smiled.

"Scared of a little lightning?" Sara smirked.

"What! No! I was just a little startled, that's all." Ava's voice tried to cover up the truth.

"So you were scared?" The captain slowly spoke as she waltzed over to the girl in the window.

"I was not!" Ava bantered back. She set her book on the floor, giving her full attention to the woman approaching her. "I was simply not expecting it, that's all."

"So... you were scared?" Sara, now hovered over Ava, still maintained her mischievous smirk.

"Sure. I was absolutely terrified." Sarcasm swelled in her throat. Ava rolled her eyes and proceeded to get up from her seat, but Sara had something else in mind.

"So, tell me if i'm wrong," she slowed and backed Ava down. "But if you were scared and absolutely terrified, then you must want someone to comfort you, yes?".

Ava quickly picked up on Sara's game, and was happy to play along with her. She noticed the White Canary's dramatic tone and continued the conversation.

"Well, of course! I would have it no other way. I just don't have any clue about who that person could be...". She longingly looked off into an imaginary distance, dragging out an over-dramatic sigh.

"Oh, I think you do." Sara bent foreword at the waist and now held her head directly over Ava's. She placed her two hands on the windowsill behind the director and allowed her damp hair to fall over one shoulder.

"You really think so?" She responded innocently.

"Absolutely." Sara smirked and leaned further into the other blonde, allowing her nose to hover just over Ava's.

"I just don't—"

"Shut up and kiss me, nerd." Sara smiled, and immediately felt soft lips grazing her own. She pushed into a full kiss, and Ava responded by returning Sara's force back with pleasure.

"Hi, Sara."

"Hi Ava." They smiled at each other and returned one more kiss before Sara turned to the closet to pull on her pjs.
