it has been a week since our date. and nothing has happened. he would come in, flirt with me, leave. same thing everyday...but today i felt different about it. the first thing that made me feel the difference is he hasn't shown up. i can mark it as his first day absent.
this is like school, he has to be here. it's the only thing that keeps my whole day from being fucking shit. i tap my pen on the table and look at the clock. 7:00 pm. two hours before closing.
i sigh as i see no one in sight. i take off my ugly blue vest as the bell rings. it was probably some old guy who wanted to know how much the shoes cost, again.
"hello, i'm calum and welcome to goodwill." i turn around not worying about the nonexistent smile on my face.
"i thought you would be happier to see me." michael smirks as he sits on the counter.
"of course." i roll my eyes as i fold my vest up and put it on the shelf in the office.
"i'm sorry its so late, but i have to ask a question." he wiggles his eyebrows, making me notice a scar on his forehead.
"go for it." this should be interesting.
"okay. i like this person-" shit "but i suck at communicating my feelings. i'm starting to think they lost interest in me. i see them everyday, but they keep getting duller as we run out of things to say and talk about. how can i change that?"
i always hated these questions. "i'm having a bit of relationship trouble myself... i don't think i'll be any help."
"you're dating someone?" his face shows the hurt of a million heartbreaks and it hits me.
"no, but why dont you ask the person you are talking about out?" i smile slightly.
"okay" he pauses. "calum would you like to go on another date with me?"
"hell yeah." i smile.
"tomorrow at noon." he nods.
"i have work." i frown. if i missed work that would result in punishment. i couldn't.
"lizzy will cover for you. see you then." he turns and walks off.
leaving me wondering... how the hell is lizzy going to cover for me? also wondering what kind of car he drives..
