"Is he going to be okay?" my mother said with a worried tone in her voice.
"He will have to rest and take it easy. He was hit on the head causing severe bleeding. But, he recovered 10 times faster than an average full grown person and he is only 15, we don't know how but it is a miracle." the doctor said with a thankful look.
My mother nodded her head and sat down on the black chair next to my bed. I could tell that she had something to say so I reached for her hand and asked her what it was that she needed to tell me. She said that our house was burnt down, but she doesn't don't know who did it. I'm going to get whoever did this and make sure they are locked up and stay there for years.
I think my mother can tell what I am thinking because she says "Honey, the detectives are looking into it as we speak. All you're going to be doing is getting better," she pauses for a moment and then continues, "You are very lucky to even be alive right now. You are in better shape than can even be explained. I love you, now get some rest."
I nod and close my eyes but I don't sleep. I can only think of what my mother said, "You are in better shape than can even be explained",what did she mean? The only thing that I can think to do is to wait until I can leave the hospital then ask her. I lay there for what seems like forever and the doctor comes in with a bright look. He says something to my mother and she thanks him excitedly. Turns out, I can go home. The doctor says that I am already in close to perfect shape and that there is no need for me to stay here. The only problem is, we don't have a home. A thousand thoughts flooded my head at once. What are we going to do now? What about my sister and little brother? Where are we going to live? All of those are questions I have no answers for.
