He had arrived at exactly 7:00 pm and climbed up the stairs to the entrance. He rang the bell for about ten seconds before she finally opened the door. Wow, you look beautiful; he awed. Stretching out his arm; he whispered quietly, shall we? Determined not to make too much of an impression, Marcie had dressed up in a short black leather skirt combined with a netted white crop top and a heeled black boots with a coat that was hung in her arm. He looked so handsome in his casual collar neck polo that exhibited his great physique with his dark blue jeans that rounded the whole look satisfyingly.
They had dinner in a restaurant that had an open roof on the top floor. The view was amazing with romantic scenery in place. They ordered food, wine and dessert and talked till the moon was fully out. He had held her hands a few times and made some eye contact with her. This really felt good, she thought. Although she liked every bit of attention she was getting, she was scared of letting down her walls and allowing this man to capture every bit of her heart like he was doing now. He was funny, had a nice dentition and smiled a lot...what was there not to like in this amazing creature sitting across the table? After a few hours, they were finally exhausted and decided to head home. He dropped her off at her apartment and kissed her lightly on her cheeks. They said their goodbyes and he started off, heading towards the direction of his house.
In fifteen minutes, Brandon was home. He parked his car and proceeded to the entrance of the house with complete alacrity, grateful for how the events played out that night. It actually played out better than he had imagined. She was a total beauty to behold... the way she rolled her eyes unknowingly, how she shivered whenever he touched her hands trying so desperately to avoid eye contact with him, he smiled. Everything about her suited and appealed to him... her perfectly shaped body, her hair, lips everything! He slotted his key into the keyhole and got in still fully alive in his thoughts. Something definitely looked wrong... first, he noticed the glass jar that was scattered to pieces on the floor and then a few things that were totally out of place. Mike? he spotted a figure close to the door leading to the backyard and froze. He ran over to where Mike's lifeless body lay...blood was spattered everywhere in the area around him with multiple stab wounds on his chest and stomach. He slid his hand under and lifted his head up... oh my God, what the hell happened here, as tears were already stung in the corner of his eyes. He reached into his pocket and retrieved his phone before dialing a number...' Hello this is 911, what can we do for you? my friend is dead he muttered...Uhm I came home to find my friend lying dead, he fought to gain control of himself. 'Okay we're on our way we just need your address. No. 9 Crimson Avenue was all he could say and wondered if he was audible enough...' just hold on sir we'll be there in no time.
In less than five minutes, the cops arrived with an ambulance and experts to investigate the crime scene. They asked the already shook Brandon some questions that he could barely answer. They demanded for him to show up in the station the next day for some procedural questions. Amidst the chaos, he looked for a quiet place to inform Mike's parents on the death of their son. After getting off the phone with them, he felt so guilty as he suspected that whoever killed Mike came for him and his friend was just a victim of a bad circumstance. But who would want me dead?
Marcie was awakened by a knock on her door. She checked the time, it was just a few minutes to midnight. She staggered out still dazed by the drugs she took that night... she peeped through the peephole on her door before turning the lock open surprised to see Brandon looking so dejected. What are you doing here so late? My friend Mike was murdered in my house, he sobbed. She gaped, come on in... tell me what happened.
