The cops arrived at the scene and covered the area. They had their dogs with them sniffing to certify the particular place in which she was held. They walked twelve yards before the dogs started barking at a spot... something that looked like a building underground. Brandon was with them determined to render every help necessary in finding her... a ray of light shone in his eyes as the dog sniffed out the spot. He rushed immediately to open the ledge, covered by leaves and branches, that led them into the cellar. As they got in, they were immediately welcomed with the horrible smell that flew upon their face. They turned on their torchlights and scanned the room. On the floor were syringes laying about on the floor and old bloodstains spattered on the wall. They heard little noises coming from behind a door and moved towards it. As they came closer, it revealed an underground tunnel in which they went into, still following the noise. Help me please, she kept fighting to raise her voice to the maximum level as her strength could carry her. They moved past the tunnel into a room that and the voice grew louder... Search the room!... the Seargent called out. Brandon turned the tables, throwing everything to the ground as one of the men shouted; I've found her! He rushed over immediately and knelt down beside her. Oh Marcie I'm sorry I couldn't find you earlier... I'm sorry I couldn't protect you... please forgive me. Staring at her, she was a complete opposite of the girl he knew. Bruises on her wrists, injection marks, wounds all over her body and her eyes that dimmed from so much fear and pain. She was the shadow of herself, he wept silently. It's fine Brandon, it's nobody's fault; was a faint voice he heard as she touched his face. He carried her up into his arms and hurried out of the tunnel. The ambulance had arrived, so they helped her up into their aid and rushed her to the nearest hospital with Brandon following in suit... not wanting to leave her for a second.
Two weeks passed, weeks of hope and torture as Brandon prayed to God to help her recover. The doctors had pumped out a lot of solid hard substances from her body plus the neutralizing antidote they injected her with to neutralize the effect of the drugs she had been injected with. He rushed to the hospital immediately the doctors called to inform him that she had woken up and asked to see him... only him.
Hey Marcie, he said and knelt beside her bed... he held out a flower; a rose for the prettiest woman in the world... he held her hands as tears trickled down his face. I'm sorry for everything... No no, she placed her hand on his face... It's I that should be sorry Brandon. You know, while I was locked down there for days; beaten severely, injected continuously and raped consistently, ... I realized that I was unfair and being so stupid with everything I said to you... I'm ready to do whatever it takes to love you Brandon... she said as tears stung on the corner of her eyes. I'm gonna go to rehabilitation, whatever! I just hope you'd stay by my side and support me till I'm ready...till I find myself. He could only but smile at this woman on this hospital bed, strong and vibrant, willing to live her best life and above all with him by her side...he was just grateful that she was alive and well. He kissed her hand before leaning forward to place a kiss on her forehead; I love you Marcie and I'm never leaving your side. All she could see now were roses and sunflowers... her thorny days were finally over.
